Sorcerers act only for the Spirit.
"Malicious actions are committed by people for personal gain," he said. "Sorcerers are a different matter. Although their actions pursue a hidden goal, it has nothing to do with personal benefit. The fact that they derive pleasure from their actions cannot be considered a benefit. Rather, it is a characteristic of their character. An ordinary person acts only when there is an opportunity to derive some benefit for themselves. Warriors say that they act not for profit, but for the Spirit."

The desire to manipulate, exploit, select, and humiliate those around them and nature in general, aroused in some by their ingrained sense of "I'm different from everyone else," "I dream and deserve it," "I know more," and the like, has nothing to do with Magic. Seers would certainly call such impulses "pettiness," "petty-mindedness," and "insignificance." Such feelings are a consequence of the absence of Knowledge, not its presence.
The magician sees the world more broadly, and the interaction of things within it on a profound level. The magician sees that all of us, humans, are bound by a single destiny, a single intangible bond. And that we are all destined, together, to either ascend to Paradise or plummet into hell with the speed of a satellite falling from Earth's orbit, its hull and interior consumed by rust.
Direct vision of the energy on Earth allows the magician to deeply understand that they, like all humanity, face many challenges posed by Providence itself. One of the most complex and mystical is the understanding of one's own intangible nature, that Origin that appeared in Eternity and is destined to never disappear. Magicians call this Origin "Spirit." It is the Spirit that softly and unobtrusively whispers "Tales of Power" and "Stories of Immortality" into the magician's ear.
A magician isn't preoccupied with the nonsense that plagues the average person. Manipulation, competition, greed, and envy—to one who sees them, these are all the habits of those weakened by their own arrogance and ego. Anyone could say otherwise, but a magician says nothing—he sees, therefore he knows.
And therefore he is calm, for he follows the Path that has a Heart. And this Path leads him to the Heart of the World—to the realization of the Brotherhood of all people and all living things in this world and every other world.
