News about the work on mods 17.07.2026
The System of Injuries and Diseases (SID) mod is still being developed. Here's what has changed since the last post was published:
1) Added pain mechanics. Now the presence of injury causes pain, the more severe the injury, the higher the rate of pain growth. The rate of pain growth will decrease as the injury heals. The pain decreases by itself over time, but the presence of even a minor injury will block this effect. The use of painkillers will reduce the increase in pain from injuries, but the effect of medications will not affect the natural rate of pain reduction. If the pain level exceeds 100%, the player's mental health will begin to decline. And the higher the pain level after 100%, the faster your mind will start to deteriorate.
2) Added infection mechanics. The presence of an injury will cause infection, the more severe the injury, the higher the rate of its growth. The growth of the infection will slow down as the injury heals. Also, the infection slowly decreases on its own over time. The use of antibiotic medications will increase the rate of infection reduction. If the infection rate exceeds 100%, the player's health will begin to decrease. And the higher the infection rate after 100%, the higher the damage will be.
3) The mechanics of treating injuries with objects have been changed. There are 4 types of injury treatment items: bandages, alcohol, sewing kits, and harnesses.
3.1) Applying a bandage increases the rate of injury treatment by 2 times and slows down the growth of infection by 25%. Bandages can be used on any type of injury.
3.2) Alcohol is used as a disinfectant and reduces the growth of infection by 50%. Alcohol can only be used for moderate/severe injury.
3.3) Sewing kits allow you to sew up a wound and increase the speed of injury treatment by 2 times. They can only be used for moderate/severe injury.
3.4) Tourniquets allow you to fix the injured part of the body and reduce the increase in pain from injury by 50%. Tourniquets can only be applied to a serious injury.
Will injuries affect bleeding in any way?
At first, I thought that injuries could cause bleeding with a certain chance, but I couldn't find a way to intentionally cause bleeding through scripts in Anomaly. I also considered amplifying existing bleeding in the same way that the Instant Bandage Stop mod works, but I didn't think it was a good idea. I also considered creating bleeding as a separate effect specifically for SID, but I decided against it. Currently, injuries only affect body parts' health, pain, and infection.
Injuries are already implemented, but what about diseases?
I plan to address diseases in the next update of the mod, after I finish working on the first version.
Does this mean that the first version of SID will be released soon?
Yes, I plan to publish the mod here for testing once I've completed all the necessary work. Although the core mechanics of injuries are already in place, I can't release the mod in its current form. I need to work on the text and translation, add a key-based check for player status, add sound and visual cues for high pain/infection levels, add information about new effects to item descriptions, and consider the impact of sleep and medical treatment. I estimate that it will take approximately one more week or slightly longer, considering testing and addressing critical bugs.
