Hi!

Making a game for a long time becomes a part of your soul, a part of your inner self. The developer and the game become one inseparable entity. And any failures related to the game are perceived as personal failures.

Final Exam failed. Yes, I knew in advance that the game would not be a masterpiece, given the conditions and pressures under which it was created. But I didn't think the failure would be so hard. It demotivated me a lot. The last point was the silent departure of the publisher, who had made a lot of promises and who had pushed me very hard in the development of the game. All that happened, superimposed on my severe burnout, led to depression.

Many thanks to all the few people who have supported me during this difficult time. One of my follower said that I actually did a lot more than most developers. He said: "No matter how bad a game is, it is a complete game! A lot of aspiring developers can't boast like that, dropping development midway through. You're much more successful than them by creating a finished product! That's something to be proud of!"

These words gave me strength, but still, it didn't make the game better.

Unfortunately, I have very little feedback regarding the game Final Exam. Most of the time I'm written to by haters who don't substantiate their words in any way, just saying that it's bad. Of course, I can't draw any conclusions from this.

I want to ask for more feedback. Now that the free version is available on my itch.io, anyone can play the game.

Unfortunately, I can't publish a direct link to the game in a public post, as it's against Boosty's rules. But I think those who want to, will have no trouble finding my game. And patrons have access to the full version of the Final Exam game.

Please don't be silent. Please write your unbiased opinion. What did you dislike about the game? How would you like to see this game? What would you add? What would you remove? And so on. However, please consider the conditions under which this game was created, and that not everything desirable can be realized under such difficult conditions. In my circumstances, I won't be able to write an interesting scenario and well designed characters. I won't be able to do animations. At the moment, static images in cutscenes are the limit of my abilities. Anything beyond that can only be realized in a reasonable amount of time with a development team. A single person would take an infinite amount of time and the game would turn into a long construction. As a solo developer who is a single mom and working three offline jobs, I have to do something much simpler.

In the Final Exam game, the main feature was supposed to be static size-difference images. Everything else should have been built around that.

Please, with all of the above in mind, post your thoughts on the Final Exam game.

As a reminder, I am currently on a forced break from game development due to my extreme burnout. Due to this, right now, temporarily, I have no new content. If all works out well, I will return to game development in January 2026.
