Hi!
Even though I've temporarily paused game development, I can't completely switch to other activities. Game development and size-difference content has become a part of me.
I remember when the development of Size Difference World started. At that moment it was just a kind of blurred idea. The game didn't imply any complex game mechanics and interesting story. The main feature of the game was supposed to be various size-difference images. The plot was supposed to be secondary. For the sake of it I even invented the fact that the main character, as if, gets into a glitchy game, created by a shoddy programmer on a buggy engine. This was supposed to explain all the plot inconsistencies and other questionable points in the game.
However, I started receiving a lot of criticism. Most players wanted to see a deep story and well-described characters in the game. Apparently, the fact that the game is made in the style of Japanese RPGs had an impact, and players apparently mistakenly thought that it would be an RPG with all its non-linear plot twists and main character progression system.
Unfortunately, I'm not good at RPG games. I don't know how to come up with interesting plots and other RPG-related mechanics. With all my desire, I can't single-handedly create a good game in this style. Yes, I have tried, based on the feedback I've gotten, to start working on a script. I even, at one point, got some helpers... Unfortunately, for one reason or another, working with helpers didn't work out.
Creating an RPG game is a team job. And team members should either be best friends or work on a paid basis. Unfortunately, neither option is feasible for me.
I want to remake Size Difference World so that the story is secondary. The action should come first. And RPG Maker is not the right engine for that.
As I said earlier, I decided to switch to the Construct 3 engine. Along with the transition to the new engine, the graphical elements will be updated as well. However, the characters will still be made in the JRPG style as before. But the look of the characters will be changed a bit.
I already showed a female character template in a previous post. This week, in my free time, I made a template for the main character of the game. The hero's sprites have already been transferred to the engine, and as soon as I have some more free time, I will implement his motion controls.

Please keep an eye on the posts if you want to stay up to date with the development. Despite the fact that I'm currently on a temporary vacation, I'm trying not to disappear from the Internet.
A big request to everyone! If you want to write something to me, please take some time to read all my previous posts. There are answers to a lot of questions there regarding game development and my life situation.
Many thanks to everyone who supports me!
