Hi!
I’m continuing my story about developing games and other size difference content.
My name is still Helen, and I’m still a single mother with two children, working three jobs at different factories.
I work on creating size difference images late in the evenings on weekdays. And on weekends (also late in the evenings, since household chores and spending time with my children still need to be done), I work on developing size difference games.
At the moment, I’m working completely alone, without any help. All I can rely on are my own strength and enthusiasm.
Please take the above into account and understand why development is progressing more slowly than I’d like.
I’m continuing the development of the game Size Difference World, migrating the code from the RPG Maker engine to the Construct engine.
This time, I can’t say much because I’m still struggling with an issue regarding enemy girls moving along a predefined route towards the main character.
The girls, as before, can’t navigate around obstacles. And when enemies collide with each other, their sprites either overlap or abruptly bounce off each other. It doesn’t look good at all.
I’ve been studying manuals and code examples for the Construct engine, but so far, I haven’t achieved any tangible results. Perhaps I lack the programming skills needed to achieve the outcome I’m aiming for. When I was writing code for the platformer Final Exam, it was much easier. Implementing mechanics for a platformer game didn’t pose major challenges for me. All those mechanics were implemented using the standard behaviors provided by the Construct engine. With a top down view game, I have to write more code manually, and this is causing me some difficulties.
Perhaps I simply don’t have enough free time to properly explore the capabilities of the game engine.
I’ll continue looking into this next week, but to be honest, my patience is running out due to the setbacks I’ve been facing. If the failures continue, I’m afraid I’ll have to abandon the Construct engine and go back to RPG Maker. Believe me, I really want to create this game, but I need to take my capabilities and life situation into account.
Let me remind that I’m not publishing work in progress builds of the game on my pages right now, as they’re currently unplayable.
I apologize, but I didn’t manage to record a video with the work results this week. To be honest, I don’t even have anything to show.
However, I’ve created a new size difference image. It’s now available in a private gallery.
Please follow my new posts if you’re interested in my work. If you’re curious about something and want to ask a question, please take the time to read all the previous posts before asking. Many questions are already answered in earlier posts.
Thank you so much to everyone who supports me!
