force majeure
guys and girls, an important announcement — the next update will come out later than usual, probably by a week or two (closer to september). the reasons are below, along with a bit of me whining about life.
i ended up in a pretty shitty situation: i was banned from entering Georgia (where i’ve lived for the past 4.5 years) for six months because i overstayed my visa run by one day. turns out a calendar year is counted as one year minus one day. my appeal wasn’t accepted without a georgian electronic signature, and from what i understand, there probably wasn’t much chance of getting the decision overturned anyway. personally, i think the border officers could really use a bit more basic human empathy, but ultimately i’ve got no one to blame here but myself.
i’ve spent the last three days in a hotel near the border in Armenia, dealing with all the problems that suddenly landed on me and trying to figure out what to do next. my beloved cat and all my belongings are still in Tbilisi. i’ve already sorted things out with my stuff — it should arrive today — but my cat is the part that hurts the most. i miss her so fucking much. because of the rules (paperwork, vaccinations), she’ll only be able to reunite with me in about a month. the stress completely killed my appetite for the first couple of days, and i honestly haven’t felt this awful in a very long time. thanks to my friends’ support and the incredibly warm welcome i’ve received here, i’m already feeling a little better, although i’m still very far from being okay. i’m not considering Yerevan because it’s too expensive, so i’m thinking of settling in a smaller city for the next six months.
once i get my new life somewhat sorted out, game development will go back to its usual rhythm. and sorry to everyone i haven’t replied to over the last few days — i’ll definitely get back to u later.
hugs to everyone, and keep yr fingers crossed for me and Yeshchyo (that’s my cat’s name) 🖤
