Putin lets in people of traditional values

Kevin Lynn and I discuss Putin's Order No. 702 and many other things.
This guy, Lynn, seems to be terribly naive; almost clueless. He reminds me of these types who think that if only we can elect the right kinds of politicians then the USA can be repaired. These folk are all too common, all too full of themselves, and immensely irritating.
His "a few Nazis" remark in relation to the USA's space program was both ignorant and laughable. The US couldn't get a tiny scientific packet into orbit until they handed it all over to Von Braun and his teams of German engineers. He became not only the face of NASA, but its brain.
I also got sick of his constant interruptions as he pushed to hear himself talk. It was almost like watching you being interviewed by a mosquito.
James R Smith, I can’t help agree with your assessment of Lynn. This trope about Russia eventually being subjugated to China betrays complete misunderstanding of how Russia is consolidating its place in the world, while demonstrating similar values that China holds - ie rising tide lifts all boats. It tells you how hard-wired US exceptionalism is baked in to the American psyche.
Waz, the problem with "alternative media" in the USA is that the overwhelming majority of it is by right wing nazionalist extremists. Lightly scrape the surface and you will find Fascism. Examine it just minutely and you will discover that it's no different from the constant stream of American exceptionalism that pours out of the West's privately owned corporate media.
Most of these clowns present a modicum of open-mindedness but would cheer if the US could just nuke Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, and anyone else who so much as complains about US hegemony.
These talking heads are mainly classic European racist dirtbags.
Thank you Dmitry for some valuable insights into Russian culture - what Russians value, what they won’t tolerate - god I wish I was younger and taking advantage of VVP’s magnanimous offer!
Thanks Dmitri for a good interview as we proceed on the countdown to America's total collapse. Perhaps the most tragic part of it is that most people don't believe it is even happening, so benighted as we have become.
Question for Dmitry: What do you see as the proper role for contract employment in an economy and culture such as Russia, where upholding traditional values are deemed important, while simultaneously the various interests want to remain competitive. Based on my observations around DC market, the contracting industry has been profoundly disruptive to culture, economy, education. The incessant search for ever greater efficiencies in the “gig economy” reduces human value to mere dollar-rate in the here and now, with no consideration for the future and utter disregard for the people that will inhabit that future. Would love to hear an in depth discussion about how employment works in Russia. As always, Thank You for all you have shared!!
RedShift, it's a big subject and I don't know how interesting the details of it would be to people outside of Russia. If you are interested, start with the Labor Codex: https://www.wto.org/english/thewto_e/acc_e/rus_e/wtaccrus58_leg_363.pdf
Dmitry Orlov, thank you!
Such important content. Thank you.
Very good points on immigration, me and family moved back to home country around when daughter was about to turn 3.
Wow! Took note of the different sections of this podcast, specifically to share with the political leaders of my local government ; too important not to share your views. I'm not an american but liviing in Canada, am very concerned with the impact the "fall of the US" as you predict (and which other serious people see similarly) will have on us. Also, the new #93 Putin move for immigration, especially as to the possibilities for university studies in Russia - not for, me being too old now, but for my grand kids - is a very interesting development. Thanks Dmitry
That grade 6 Russian math comment was awesome. I laughed out loud. (I want to cry when I remind myself how bad I am at math).
Russian grade 6 enough to get into a North American engineering program. I wonder what grade a decent child Chinese student would be in...4, 5, 6, 7?
