News about the work on mods 12.10.2026

Hi everyone, this is Breaker_oak!
Right now, I’m actively working on my modpack Anomaly Renovation v0.1. The electricity situation has stabilized, so now I can dedicate all my free time to mod and pack development. Currently, Anomaly Renovation is being tested and refined to prepare the pack for its first release. Since the pack will use the Radioactive Air addons, and optionally System of Toxins and Diet System, I’ll also be working on updates for these mods in parallel (it was high time to update them).

Regarding the Radioactive Air update.

Thanks to working on an addon that changes how armor plates are used, I now know how to implement the effect of an installed filter/tank on the equipment’s weight. So this mechanic will finally be implemented, and the inventory weight won’t change when equipping these items.
Also, as an extra step, a red line will be added to the top of the description for all helmets and gas masks where a filter should be installed. This line will inform the player that the filter isn’t installed. It should help new players who are using Radioactive Air for the first time (for example, in other modpacks) and don’t know that filters must be installed.

Regarding the System of Toxins update.

First, I’ll add a limit on how much detoxification effects from artifacts or other items equipped on the belt can be boosted. In the previous version, I didn’t consider at all that in other modpacks, the balance and strength of these items’ effects can be very different from what we have in Anomaly. So in the new version, using these items will allow faster reduction of intoxication, but their effect will be capped and not too strong.
Next, I plan to add a new mechanic called “Overdose.” When a player accumulates a dangerous level of toxins, there’s a certain chance that an overdose effect will trigger. This will be a temporary effect that gives a bonus to health, psyche, and stamina regeneration, and also grants immunity to passing out (including death from intoxication). After the overdose effect ends — either because the timer runs out or the intoxication level drops below 100% — the player’s health, psyche, and stamina will drop to half of the values they had right before the effect ended. So now intoxication won’t only have negative consequences; in some situations, it can even be useful.
And lastly, regarding this mod’s update: I’ll add a compatibility patch for all items available on Moddb. This patch wasn’t made by me — it was created by one of my subscribers who decided to share it with me and everyone else, and I’m very grateful to them for that.

Regarding the Diet System update.

First, I’ll add settings to the MCM so you can configure nutrient consumption — both passive consumption and consumption triggered by using medicines that use up nutrients.
Second, a blacklist of items will be added. This blacklist will prevent nutrient consumption when using those items. So if you feel that some item with a long‑lasting health or stamina recovery effect shouldn’t consume nutrients, all you need to do is open the script and add its name to the blacklist.
Third, I’ll fix the issue with negative effects at critical nutrient levels. That is, when nutrient levels drop sharply to critical values — for example, after using a stimpack — and the health pool becomes too low, forcing the player to eat right in the middle of combat.
Fourth, I plan to add a nutrient conversion mechanic. In short, if there’s an excess of one type of nutrient, it will be converted into nutrients whose levels aren’t at maximum. For example, the player has full protein and fat levels, but low carbs. They only have food with high protein and carbs in their inventory. After eating that food, the excess protein and fat won’t disappear; they’ll be converted into carbs. If there’s an excess of carbs after eating, they’ll be converted into fats. This way, you’ll be able to get carbs from foods that don’t contain them, but only because you must have maximum levels of other nutrients. So you’ll have to eat more than needed.
Fifth, I’ll add a compatibility patch for all food items available on Moddb. Just like with the intoxication mod, this patch was shared with me by a subscriber, and I want to thank them again for that. I actually received these patches quite a while ago and planned to include them while updating the mods, but as you can see, the update work only started now.

Now I’d like to say a few words about the Anomaly Renovation pack.

As mentioned at the beginning, it’s currently being refined and tested. I won’t go into detailed descriptions of the pack here, since the project is mostly about balance tweaks, aside from addons that introduce new mechanics. I doubt anyone would be interested in reading about changes to item properties, starting gear choices, or whether I could make that sound interesting.
So I figured it’d be better to show Anomaly Renovation instead of just telling about it. For that, I created a VK Video channel where I upload videos of testing and playthroughs of my pack. In these videos, I comment not only as a player on what’s happening in the game but also as the pack’s developer, explaining some modpack details. At the time of this post’s publication, I’ve already recorded and uploaded 6 videos to the channel.
If you’re interested in seeing how Anomaly Renovation feels and what awaits the player, here’s the link to my video channel:

On a side note, I’d like to mention that while recording my gameplay in FHD resolution (yes, I had to set graphics to the lowest settings for that), and considering the recording itself, playing was still quite comfortable on DX11. My modest laptop with integrated graphics (AMD Radeon RX Vega 6 in an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U CPU) and 8 GB of RAM delivered a pretty decent FPS. I’d also like to note that after recording 6 videos — each about an hour long on average — I haven’t encountered a single crash to the desktop. I’m still not entirely sure about the modpack’s stability; it’s possible this result is only because I haven’t played for more than an hour straight.
P.S. A few words about my channel and the videos with playthroughs and testing of Anomaly Renovation. Since I’m a Russian creator, the videos will be in Russian.
I also wanted to mention where I publish my videos. Unfortunately, I don’t have the option to run a YouTube channel comfortably, so I’m posting videos where I can. I hope this won’t stop you from watching them.
