Hello people of the internet on this platform, today I will be talking about a commission that I've officially finished drawing yesterday (2026/08/20)! I got commissioned by @thepilgrimer [TikTok] to draw her OC - Alejandro, in a half-full body and fully rendered!

So I will be talking about the easier parts first:

The first easy part was the rough sketch, since it's all rough, not smooth and clean, which makes changing certain things a tad easier for me to change up, if it needs any changing or something like that.

Now the second easier part was having to draw the icon from the Mexican flag. This, of course, was done AFTER finishing the character itself and rendering him fully. It was a bit tricky, of course, but grabbing the same colours and doing out a rough sketch of the flag part itself, it made things pretty much easier.

Now, the harder parts:

The first hard part for me was mostly the reference, as it was black and white - it was quite hard to tell where the shadows were had to be 100% [in no way am I blaming the client for choosing that reference] ! But I worked it out and finished it, which pretty much satisfied me.

The second harder part was the face - especially the nose and lips part. If you've seen my fully rendered artworks, I *do not* draw noses fully and I render/shade them in only! This was the part that took me some time to fix up, but it all worked out and ended up looking great in my opinion. The lips part - since I also *do not* draw lips, I had to decide how I was going to make the teeth/mouth part(-s) pop out more. So I did what I thought was the best thing to do in that case scenario, and rendered a bit red-black around, trying to mimic the lips in a way it looks okay, as I do not know how to draw lips!

So that was all of the easier parts and the harder parts of finishing up this commission! I was and still am very happy to hear it from her that she loved it! I thank her for being my first customer in the digital art commission 'business' if I can call it in this scenario!
