The year is 2156. The State of Saadi is developing a new generation of weapons — the Spark, designed to replace the nuclear arsenal. But a single mistake triggers catastrophe: a black mist — the Mara — that wipes out all life.
Survival is only possible in places where rare mineral deposits remain underground. Two surviving cities wage a brutal war for this resource. In one, scientists turn the fog into a cult and tool of power. In the other, people dream of restoring the lost world.
Yara, the mayor’s daughter, is the only one immune to the fog. To save Koyaani and prevent another war, she infiltrates the scientists’ city and uncovers the truth behind the disaster. But the deeper she ventures into the perilous world beyond the dome, the harder it becomes to tell enemies from allies — and the closer she comes to a choice that will determine the fate of all.
“Spark” is a story about mercy and hatred, about the cost of trust, and about how even in a post-apocalyptic world, one can still remain human.
The project began as an idea for an animated series, but today we are releasing it as a comic — to build an audience, to reveal this world in all its detail, and to bring closer the day when Spark will appear on screen.
