Teacher’s Day in Russia

Teachers’ Day 🇷🇺
Teachers' Day in Russia is celebrated on October 5.
On this day, students show gratitude to their teachers, give them flowers, chocolates and greeting cards.
At my school teachers were replaced with high schoolers on that day. So the teachers could really enjoy the holiday. For high school students it was exciting and interesting to be in teacher’s shoes. I loved it!
When do you celebrate Teacher’s Day in your country? What do you do on that day?
The most common way to say teacher in Russian is «Учи́тель». It may be used for practically any teacher of anything at school. Both male and female. If you want to emphasize that you are speaking about a woman, say «Учи́тельница», but remember that it is colloquial and may never be used as an official title.
