Progress Update
Here are some of the scenes and improvements we have completed so far:
- Re-rendering several older scenes that suffered from heavy image compression, especially throughout the prologue.
- Adding new animated moments for Mia and Madison during the prologue.
- Replacing previously black-screen-only scenes, such as the building dryer, stand, house, and volleyball net scenes, with proper renders and stronger story flow.
- Creating a memorable new storyline for Mia and Max during their unexpected journey on a rainy day, including an unforgettable night in a cave.
- Rendering the cave location at different hours of the day to make it feel more alive and dynamic.
- Turning Max’s fire-making moment from a simple black screen into a fully rendered scene.
- Creating scenes from the characters’ first days after arriving on the island, before their weekly routines begin.
- Adding more random encounters between Maxwell and each character around the island to help develop their stories naturally.
- Expanding Jade’s storyline: Maxwell discovers her cigarette addiction and finds a carton of cigarettes in the plane wreckage. Could this become the key to breaking through Jade’s seemingly unbreakable walls… or perhaps corrupting her? ;)
- And of course, Mia and Madison are becoming extremely eager to play volleyball. But Maxwell owns the ball and makes the rules… Will Mia and Madison have to face one of Maxwell’s corruptions every time they want to play?
Even though the next update has taken longer than we originally planned, we are doing our best to make it worth the wait.
Our goal is not to create just another visual novel. We want Forgotten Cove to feel like a meaningful, immersive story, more like a novel you can live through. Sometimes inspiration is not as easy to reach as it may seem from the outside, especially when working under pressure and dealing with a busy schedule. But we are continuing to push forward and improve every part of the game.
We still have a few more scenes planned for this update.
We know many of you have been waiting for it, and we truly appreciate your patience and support. We are getting closer, and we hope to release the update very soon. Thank you for staying with us!
