Dev Update! 7/14/25
Hey, folks! Hope your week's off to a great start!
Work on the new chapter continues to chug right along. No major pitfalls as of yet. Just a bunch of rendering, and tweaking the script here and there. I've been working a little bit on reconciling the new few chapters with the updated Season One content, but it hasn't really been my focus. Once I reach a certain point in the rendering for the new chapter, I'll take my foot off the gas a bit.
I did end up tossing one small scene into the trash, this week. I'd begun to render it, and realized that it was really just entirely superfluous. It was going to be a scene with Mason and Cassie meeting, which sounded more fun on paper than it wound up being. The intent was to resolve the plot branch where Mason didn't get glasses yet, and to get Cassie out of Guy's hair for a bit. But, I realized I could just handle Mason's stuff via the planned time-jump montage I'm doing, and I could more easily take Cassie off the board for a bit, without needing a whole scene to do it. I don't think much was lost -- I'll find something more interesting for Mason to do, soon enough.
Besides all that stuff, I'm working on one other little set of renders, for the end of Season One. It'll basically be a little montage showing where various characters are, by the time Season One ends. The intention being to show exactly where all the various characters are, and how the player's actions might have impacted them. For some characters, not much will really have changed. For others, the player's actions might have a more pronounced effect. I think it'll help the whole thing feel a little more tied together, and it's like 2-3 renders per love interest. So, not a big deal.
