Dynamic Sirens Manager (DSM)
First tests of my lighting mod — Dynamic Sirens Manager (DSM) 👀🔥
Hey friends! I recorded a quick video from my alpha build tests. There is no game sound because I always code and test while listening to my own music, so just ignore that, lol.
In this video, I'm showing how the emergency lights can be configured in real-time right through the in-game menu.
By the way, for this demonstration, I used my older mod, the Vapid Police Stanier LE Cruiser. When porting it, I was too lazy to remove the original siren bones ahaha, which ended up making it the perfect car to test the script on! Just so you know, the mod works exactly the same way on any vanilla (standard) game vehicle as well.
What the mod can already do:
- Automatically detects all emergency lights installed on the vehicle (it doesn’t matter if it’s a vanilla car or an add-on/replaced model).
- Allows you to customize the flashing patterns however you want. In the video, I'm randomly clicking through different options and step grids to show how the rhythm and speed of the flashes change.
- The step grid can be expanded indefinitely to create very long and beautiful light waves. Honestly, my own imagination is just not enough to show you something truly crazy, lol.
- The color and size of the coronas change on the fly — you can tweak the RGB palette right in the game.
I also showcased a couple of saved setups that I spent some time pre-configuring earlier. My point is, you can customize the pattern absolutely any way you like to suit your taste.
Don’t worry too much about me switching the modes with a mouse right now. It's still in the early testing phase, and in the future, you will be able to switch siren stages on the fly using hotkeys while driving. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, or I'll end up writing a wall of text again, lol.

FAQ
Q: Is this an ELS replacement? What's the difference?
A: It’s a completely different engine. The old ELS required a complex installation, tons of config files for each car, and often broke due to game versions. My mod automatically reads the standard siren bones directly from the vehicle's 3D model (whether vanilla or custom) and lets you configure everything on the fly via an in-game menu.

Q: How difficult is it to install?
A: No installation headaches at all: the final release will be a single clean .asi file that you just drop into your game folder.

Q: Can I change the light colors if they are modeled as plain white?
A: Yes! The color and size of the flashes are now adjustable right from the menu via the built-in RGB palette. You can customize the pattern and flashing stages absolutely any way you like to suit your taste.

Q: Are there any limits on the number of lights?
A: Absolutely no limits. You can add as many sirens to the model as you want — the script will automatically detect them, count them, and let you control each specific diode individually.

Q: Does this mod work like ELS using "extras" (tuning parts)?
A: No, that's the whole point! ELS used a workaround — it forced the game to endlessly toggle tuning parts (extras) on and off, causing cars to glitch. My mod uses the game's native system. It takes the regular model bones named as standard sirens (just like vanilla game cars) and controls the light directly. No clutter, no flashing extras.

Q: What cars will this work on? Are there any limitations?
A: It will work on absolutely any car — whether it's a vanilla vehicle or a custom add-on. The only requirement for model creators is that the light bones in the 3D editor must be named simply siren (siren1, siren2, etc.), just like in the original game. If the model has these bones, the script will find them and bring them to life.
Just a heads-up for the future: don't expect a release anytime soon, lol. I'm working on this mod purely when I have the inspiration and spare time, so development will move at my own pace, lol.

What if regular car tuning is a thing of the past? How about tuning... the sirens themselves? 👀
Imagine changing the color, size, and flashes of every single diode on the roof on the fly, matching the lightbar to the night city. And most importantly — absolutely no stupid limits on the number of lights and no endlessly blinking "extras". 🤫
Would it be cool to have a mod like this? What do you think? 🔥👇

Milcin7, Basically it looks cool, I liked it. It's probably a stupid question to ask, but still, if the police arrive in the same car, will they have the same settings as me?

ZL0YW0LK, I actually thought about this the moment the idea was born, lol. I'm definitely going to make it happen! Without it, the mod just wouldn't be as fun. Simply put, it's a vital stage of writing the mod, and it's definitely coming. Right now, I'm just developing and testing the code, so it only works on my own car, but this feature will absolutely be included in the release!
