The Chino's design, especially in the side profile, appears to be derived primarily from the 1962 Lincoln Continental, with some elements[vague] taken from the 1966 Lincoln Continental. The idea of the headlights behind the grille might have been inspired by James Hetfield's custom Lincoln Continental - "The Dead Kennedy". Another major influence for the Chino's design is the 1964 Chevrolet Impala, seen in the shape of the grille as well as the front bumper, the hood and the roofline. The rear of the car might have been inspired by either the 1963 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Convertible or the 1966 Mercury Monterey.
