I'm into 3D printing and Blender modeling. For a while I was really into making name keychains — printing them for myself and friends. But there was one problem: I wanted the base to follow the outline of the letters, not just sit on a plain rectangle. It looks so much better that way — but doing it manually took 15 to 25 minutes per keychain.

At some point I thought: why not automate this?

That's how Keychain Builder for Blender was born — an addon that does all the work for you. Type your text, pick a font, press one button — get a ready-to-print 3D model. Works with any TTF/OTF font, supports Cyrillic, Latin, numbers.
