NOTE: About 1.066/7 / Заметки: Про 1.066/7

=================================== RU

Patches 1.066 and 1.067 — the worst patches since 1.054, when maps got tied to the DC cache. During the transition from v1 (that is what I will call the ARm Lua-script logic throughout this text) to v2 (the neural-slop logic from BWS) and up to the current moment, I reworked almost the entire purchase and bot-behavior system, but in the end I brought it back to something the player understands and that feels like the old one. In v1 the bot bought units from a single common pool, where each unit had its own weight — I had been balancing those registries for years. In v2, however, a strange, convoluted architecture appeared, with so-called "lanes" (infantry, armor, support, recon, aviation), army strength, a weird implementation of "doctrines", and nine scoring factors. All of that was first deployed and integrated into ARm, then reworked for our needs: the so-called "flat mode" was enabled — a single pool again, but with modern weight calculation; the old v1 multipliers were restored; the large bot purchase registries were adapted to the new variables, which in practice are just junk; and the rule "the higher the priority in the old table, the more often the unit is bought" was restored (in the authors' 1.066 the values had migrated in the opposite direction, so rare units became common and common units became rare — but by now nothing surprises me). Aviation in the new ARm version will get a dedicated lane — aircraft will appear in battle consistently, at threat level I. Each nation has its own coefficient (USA and Britain more often, Finland less often). Doctrines again affect the whole army as in v1, not just individual categories inside a fixed budget (that is still how BWS sees doctrines). The completely insane tank spam has been removed. From the new v2 content I kept and reworked: the defender's counterattack when a flag is lost, infantry reinforcement after each tank, limits on rare units, group multipliers, and reasonable cooldowns between waves — all adapted from the v1 ARm code. I removed what prevented the player from playing at all: the aggressive bot "retreat" logic after the final wave, because of which the bot could leave the battlefield prematurely just because the player had more units (just think about it... this was all in 1.066/7). The v2 log was cleaned of ~800 lines of spam per battle. All multipliers and balancers are now managed in a single config.lua file inside the ARm mod directory, as it always used to be — they can be tuned point-by-point without touching dev code. The battle-end chain was finished so the session closes properly instead of hanging after the retreat. Right now the version works as a balanced v1-compatible build: the player gets the same unit mix as before, but with more predictable bot behavior, living aviation, working doctrines, and without sudden "retreats", hanging sessions, and other "brilliant" junk. It is possible that the second iteration of adaptation to the realities of 1.067 will not be the last... We will stay in touch.
