Dev Blog #7
Hello, future pioneers! We have already conducted many internal tests with our team and can say with confidence that we have managed to bring back the general concept and spirit of the very game that many of you met 17 years ago. We really like the level progression in classic Granado Espada. Today I will tell you about the concept of it and answer the question - what to do in the game, besides leveling up your characters?
The game can be roughly divided into 4 large stages, each of which offers a unique experience.
Early levels (level 1 - 52)
At this stage, you will be busy completing quests - you need to cope with scenario tasks and collect the rnpcs that interest you. In addition to quests, you can farm dungeon bosses, collect vouchers from sigmunds, and also try your hand at the first missions. In today's blog we will talk mainly about this stage of the game features.
Middle levels (level 52 - 84)
This stage does not contain as many quests as the first, but instead offers you the opportunity to earn your first money. There are many ways to improve your family's financial situation - you can collect Catherine's parts (this has become a difficult task again!), obtain valuable items using the golden-well and ferruccio forges , farm underground relics and Dekaravia, participate in missions , open secret rooms with tickets from boss rooms , hunt on location bosses. As you can see, the list of options is quite extensive, and it does not limit itself to repeating the same daily missions, as in the latest versions of GE. If you don't have a lot of time to play, you can still earn vis by keeping your characters in afk mode. We told you a lot about the features of this stage in our dev blogs earlier. Today we just added for you accurate information about rewards in underground relics and secret rooms, which was missing before.
Pre-high levels (level 84-100)
The same Granado Espada that we personally really missed. Merchants in cities no longer sell equipment by level, enchantment and enhancement have become very expensive, difficult quests block some of the content and you focus on improving your characters to complete it. To do this, you have to hunt bosses (both solo and in groups), craft equipment, make transactions on the market and look for your personal strategies for earning vis. You will definitely remember what a unique equipment is and understand the value of elite equipment. You will be faced with difficult choices and interesting tasks. The features of this stage of the game will be partially touched upon in the next dev blog.
High levels (level 100+)
Next, your gameplay will depend on your preferences.
If you are a PvP player, then the very game for which you leveled up before begins for you - colonial wars, random skirmishes in locations, preparing your PvP setup. We have previously shown what pvp looks like in version 2.0 - we hope it turned out exactly the way you remember it.
If you are a PvE player, then you will face the strongest bosses and raids in the game. Unite into factions, develop different tactics, remember boss respawn times, and get the best equipment possible as a reward.
If you just want a quiet solo game, don’t worry, you’ll still have something to do in Granado Espada Classique. Level up minor characters, enjoy high-level locations and quests and participate in the server economy by trading with other players. Finally, enjoy the nostalgia of our favorite game!
Now, let's speak about features!
Quests
We know that many of you do not like questing, and would be glad to skip this part of the game. Like you, we are tired of going through the same story branches every time we start a game on a new project. We had concerns about this - would players want to go through the Auch storyline again, which they have known by heart for a long time?
Believe me, you will be able to enjoy old quests again. This will happen because
1. The quest lines are slightly different from those we see in new versions. Yes, there are not very many changes, but it will sometimes force you to read the quest journal, rather than going through the quest automatically.
2. Most of the quests have been significantly simplified in modern versions of GE. Be prepared for the fact that a fight with a RNPC on its quest is a serious test. Do you remember how difficult it was to fight Gracielo when you were level 40? Or how long did it take you to collect materials for Claude's quest? We remembered, and it delighted us. Completing quests has become a challenge again.
3. Quest rewards have value again. You don't have to go through locations 20 levels below you - each EXP card received as a reward will strengthen your characters. Quest character cards will have a value on the market, and only the strongest among you will be able to boast of having Catherine or Grenmah in their barracks.
4. Rewards for some quests have been increased. As administration of the first classic server, we do not have the right to deeply customize your gaming experience. But to give you motivation to complete Carlos's quest or Adeline's Sub-quest, we have added small amounts of cash items to the rewards for unpopular quests.
In general, quests have again become a full-fledged part of the game, and not a boring duty for a couple of evenings.
I have a task for you. Be my punching bag.
Pioneer statues
Do you remember the pioneer statue system? Not that complex and low-profit system of pioneer quests of the latest versions, but the old one. Up to a certain level, you will meet pioneer statues in all locations - its tasks will help you complete scenario quests and slightly raise your level. Also you will receive pet food as a reward for pioneer quests - this will help to save money on purchasing it from the item dealer at low levels.
Remember me? We used to play together after school!
Boxes of Ferruccio
Another ancient mechanic that most people have forgotten. Ferruccio boxes can be found in all low level locations. There are three types of it - red, yellow and blue. Opening the red box does not require any conditions to be met, while opening the yellow and blue boxes will require you to obtain keys. The Yellow Key quest can be started from the Box Researcher in Coimbra. To get the blue key, you will need to find a special item in one of the yellow boxes and show it to the same NPC.
The reward for opening such boxes is equipment based on the location level.
