Competition is a rivalry between economy participants.

And as any sort of competition comes to a close with one side emerging victorious, with market competition this results in the winner attaining monopoly - or at least getting one step closer to it.

While mortgage may differ greatly depending on your country and financial situation, I'd personally approach this positively and wish you well on the application!
