97: Public education

Public education is the process of teaching and sharing knowledge to improve people’s lives and contribute to the development of society.
P.S. The members of the artel and their families are part of society too.

OFF TOPIC:
Recently, I have been directing more of my purchases towards cooperatives.
Generally, you might have to first become a member before you can be a customer.
Each cooperative defines a minimum number of required shares. Usually, you can buy more though.
When profit distributions happen, they are done proportionally to shares.
But..
1) Every member has one vote, regardless of share count. Meaning: one person with 2 shares, and another with 200 have the same vote-power.
2) The cooperatives can have in their constitution, "X% of profit goes towards [special topic]."
3) They can offer usage-based rebates. For example, a cooperative grocery store. If at the end of the year, they have profit, instead of distributing via dividends, they can refund it to members by amount spent at the store, proportionally.
I think these things cut into capital based distributions. 🤷🤔
I have joined:
* vegetable coop
* retail coop
* electricity coop
But I still need to migrate my consumer behaviors..

Ralph S. (Assistant to the Emperor of Borgo), To be honest, still subconsciously surprised when I hear of actually functioning co-ops. I'm assuming the farm one is also a consumer?

Gabital, not totally sure what that means.. But it is a farm that grows vegetables.
Customers pay 16 euro per week, and get 2.5 to 3 kilos of vegetables. And its a subscription, if you want to cancel, your cancellation only happens at the end of the growing season.
The absolute worse part is: that you don't get to pick the vegetables. Everyone gets the same thing, and there might be some things you just don't like..
There are pickup points all over the city. It cuts out going to the grocery store a bit, but maybe makes it more efficient profit-wise for the coop (no middle man.)
