Игорь Преображенский, What will Ukraine look like after defeat? All my grandparents came to the U.S. alone from Ukraine around the turn of the century. If my family is an example, the number of children in following generations progressively decreased and the number of children who died early in life due to trauma is appalling. I’ve struggled all my life trying to cope with the mental oppression that was passed on, as have my siblings. Our family surname did not survive in the U.S. There is your answer.
