NATO was, and continues to function as, the successor to The Third Reich. It needs to be liquidated and its principles investigated and tried in a world court for crimes against humanity.
Thanks to the hours difference, I watch Dmitry's interviews first thing in the morning when I turn on my computer. Laughing in the morning puts you in a good mood for the rest of the day.
I can remember that at the beginning of the Perestroika, many people said that it was just a feint to deceive the 'West'. And they were invoking the opening of the Trans-Siberian pipeline (aka Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhhorod) delivering gas to Europe. The US administration frantically opposed it, ''afraid that Western Europe would become dependent on the Soviet gas supplies, giving leverage to the Soviet Union. They also feared the Kremlin would use the export revenue for military purposes''!
At the time Western European allies refused to boycott the pipeline, calling the extension of the American sanctions illegal and sending a formal note of protest.
During the US election count I heard the US president repeatedly being referred to as “the leader of the free world”. It must come as a shock to Russians to be told that there is a “free world” and they’re not part of it. Just another example of the West still being stuck in Cold War thinking I suppose. Or another example of the West committing suicide by reality denial. Either way …. objective reality always wins.
Recently started following. In light of all this what is someone in the US, particularly a young person, supposed to do? Sounds like one might as well give up on life and start wasting away on drugs every single day until the inevitable (and perhaps freeing) dirt nap. Doesn't seem like there is a point, particularly after reading the "American Egregore" article.
Midwinter Soliloquy, there is always a point provided you can come up with it yourself. Why would you expect your silly country to come up with it for you?
