What the United States owes the Ukrainians

During the Ukrainian putsch of 2014, Victoria Nuland proudly announced that the US had spent $5 billion on the Ukrainian political system. The outcome of that effort was a bloody putsch and a decade of political repression, terrorism and war. The United States bears full responsibility for that outcome and must compensate the Ukrainian population (not the Ukrainian government, since that is an illegitimate, unelected, repressive junta) for its losses. Here is the itemized bill:
Item 1: Death Gratuity
The Ukraine has lost over a million men as casualties of war. The standard death gratuity in the United States armed forces is $100,000, paid out to the families of the deceased regardless of cause of death. There is no reason why Ukrainian deaths caused by American policy should be valued any differently.
Amount owed: $100,000,000,000
Item 2: Compensation for population loss
The effect of American political manipulation leading to war with Russia was a loss of population, through emigration, of 10 million people since 2021. In 2021, the Ukraine's per capita GDP was $4,776. Over the past 3 years, that comes to $14,328 per capita.
Amount owed: $143,280,000,000
Item 3: Loss of access to resources
The total natural resource value of the Ukraine is valued at over $12 trillion. Russia now occupies 20% of the total land area which contains roughly a third of all of the natural resources, a value of
$4,000,000,000,000.
TOTAL DUE: $4,243,280,000,000
Adjustments:
Donald Trump has stated publicly that US support for the Ukraine has amounted to $500,000,000,000. The previous president, who is an imbecile, thought that the Ukraine would conquer Russia and allow the US to loot it. Obviously, that didn't happen, the war was a bad investment for the US, and now Trump wants to claw back his money. Honoring his claim at face value (for Trump is not one to be trifled with), we adjust the total to reflect:
ADJUSTED TOTAL DUE: $3,743,280,000,000
Full amount payable in cash upon receipt. Pounds of flesh not accepted. If unable to pay in full, please contact Kremlin Collectors. Or they will contact you.
Nice one Dmitri
I've heard that with debts like these the only solution would be to wipe the slate clean. Maybe that would be asking too much, but I feel that if all the world debt was wiped clean. But all the private banking dynasties should be the first to compensate all the wars and people killed or injured, by their hands alone.
Then be sent to prison for a minimum term of 10 years, without parole. But its just my own opinion.

Tmato temato, good idea, but 10 years in prison seems too little. You bring the rope, I bring the soap!

The US has two extraordinary privileges: It prints the world reserve currency AND it can simply walk away from any of the many messes it creates. These two are related and are coming to an end.

BertrandR, It would be really nice. J.D. Vance wants to raise ire, saying it came from U.S. taxpayers, but those are books that are never held accountable.

Given the USA was overthrown by the city of London in a fascist coup on April 12, 1945, after the defeat of their third Reich , which culminated in the restart of the Great Patriotic War through the ukraine (a "state" created by the German general staff in 1918). The reparations to Ukraine need to come from the banking families of London and their lap dogs on wall street.

C K, I tend to agree that there was a fascist coup but would argue there was a transition phase between the creation of NSC-68 and the assassination of JFK. Of course, this is my view from the cheap seats while munching GMO popcorn.

Good job Dmitry! Still, I think this is a down-limit... I mean, a very cool offer the US should pick up and pay ASAP. There is a good chance the creditors realize it were a too good offer and regret the deal.

Is there enough wealth in the world to compensate all of America's victims?
avatar
Sean Thomas, probably not, but it's always possible to add a few more circles of Hell.

I'm guessing from the body language-- of which one is more than passingly familiar, thanks to an accident of employment a few moons ago-- that the American delegation in particular, before and after the "meeting" in Riyadh with the Russians, were in fact presented **gently** with a dictation of surrender terms-- in the European theater certainly, maybe even globally, too.
Something for them to think about, maybe. To mull over... nothing to dramatic. A nice sit down with Lavrov, rather than a face-to-face with Belousov and Gerasimov later.
(Oohh, no thank you very much!)
The whole "drawing down so's to refocus our efforts toward the China threat" (some time in the Never Never) is obviously just a shpiel for Joe Sixpack to think they're still relevant and potent, when everybody else knows a gigantic humiliation for Uncle Sham and that turd in the ukraine is incoming, followed by glory for the Russian Armed Forces.
Enjoy it, comrades. And please rub it in. Harshly.
It does seem like the minerals deal will be the cover for America to declare victory and walk away. RU will mostly support the narrative since they DGAF about what JoeSixPack thinks.

ThirdChimp, in fact, Putin took this opportunity to troll Trump like a pro: he offered a deal to develop mineral resources either in Krasnoyarsk (choice of brown or polar bears), Russia's Far East (same thing) or... drum roll, please... formerly Ukrainian Donbass! Well played, Putin!

You remain peerless in providing fresh perspective. One must never lose sight of what US did to Ukraine to have brought it to this mess.

I have an accounting back ground and the clawback is excessive. I remember American senators and Biden admin repeatedly stating 80% of Uktaine allocation went to US contractors. Uktaine only received 100 billion. Just saying...ThinkingFace  Cheers👍
