The choice is between 30 minutes of time to listen to your excellent podcast (or 25 minutes with the playback speed increased) or 5-6 minutes to read the same as article. For me, I prefer reading. Also, written commentary allows one to re-read and review the important points. That's my 2 cents! Highly informative podcast. Thank you so much.
Kathie D, I'm not sure you could fit all that information in a short (5-6 minutes reading) - I mean all the information on the Soviet infrastructure in Ukraine and other history - that's a lot.
Dmitry Orlov, I personally go for the stupid videos of horses. I think it is because horses appeal to emotions I have carried since my childhood. Horses have been battered and abused for centuries. Go look for silly video from an american kill pen.
I prefer to read too and I don’t have a cat. However, I do welcome your new presentation format. I have the misfortune of living in the country that, for marketing purposes, calls itself the UK. It is very far from being united. Its radio output is deplorable. It’s difficult to escape half hourly sycophantic references to its tinpot government or its parasitical royal family. So, especially when driving, I like to use that time to listen to podcasts and this is a welcome addition, thank you. I’d also mention to Kathie D above, the availability of a playback button is fairly standard nowadays.
Congratulations on your analysis. I don't think it would have come across in the printed word. I'm going to try to spread the YouTube version, but don't hold your breath.
Nicely said about corruption. An important thing not mentioned is that W-countries have incorporated large-scale corruption into their legal system. You only mention it for US-lobbying. Yet it is true for European countries. Germany has applied it for Siemens multiple times (submarine-Greece scandal, Deutsche Telekom, Pharmaceuticals). The biggest corruption right in front of our eyes is the Golden Passport case wherever it exists. Wrt to UK, they applied legal corruption with Russian Oligarchs as they call them through 90s and 00s. Ofc the case of Covid vaccines and testing, check Leamington Spa Covid testing facility are prime time recent corruption cases that are fully legal.
Dear Dmitry, even though I love to read your excellent articles, this podcast was very informative and gave my wife and I, the opportunity to listen to it together and later share our understanding of your very pedagogic, humorous and convincing testimony on the corruption plague in the neocon world.
Dmitry, this podcast format is better then expected. High quality content mixed with your voice and intonation. Amazing experience during my lunch break at the log cabin.
Repeating my questions here, lol. Is the ZNPP plant still operational? I heard the six reactors are shut down and they just keep pumps running to cool the leftover radioactive material. And how old is your cat? He's (or she) is definitely cute!
I still like watching some of those YouTube geopolitical videos. However the commentaries are pretty repetitive and you really have to scroll through to find an informed and interesting comment (like 5-6 interesting comments in 5-600 comments) and no chance that anyone will reply to your question or comment. That's what I think the advantage of a smaller group on a forum like this, you've got more chance of having an interesting dialogue and finding informative comments. Just my thoughts for Dimitry's content delivery format.
Loved it. At the moment I'm feeling a lot of dread about all the evil in the world. I'm just very grateful to Russia for giving the global South hope, and I'm sorry for the lives Russia had to sacrifice. 🇿🇦❤️🇷🇺
I listened twice on YouTube and learned a lot. I have stacks of unread books and struggle to set aside an hour to read every day. Just so much to do on a small farm in upstate NY. So this reading challenged person, appreciates the new format.
Dmitry Very clear and helpfull to better understand the dinamic "picture"; this way of presenting useful information works very well as i understand it.
Your record seems to have a tight pattern, is it the case? The "plim" betwen Q and A sounds very well; how long for the Question and for the Answer, and between both? Sorry for the question but, you inspired me.
Keep doing a great job, you deserve and we enjoy and learn!
Personally, I like listening while doing 'stuff' a bit more. Your style, perspective and knowledge is why I like to listen to your podcasts and read your material a lot. Greeting from the Netherlands. ✌️
I enjoyed the Audio. Post literate world. I went looking tor the script? but none . I agree that you should not be giving away your content. perhaps an audio introduction on YouTube could be part of a introduction/ teaser / hook.
Peter Monahan, I searched as you did. The transcript from YT is no good without time-consuming redacting. During my time attending university lectures I took notes when I heard the amanuensis say something worth noting and remembering. Perhaps Dmitry could make it easer for us to go back and check what he said?
