Flexible Eggplant 🍆
Hi there!
I continue to publish flexible vegetables, this time a sad eggplant 🥺🍆.
There are 4 versions for printing: whole, in parts, with googly (wiggle) eyes, and just a faceless eggplant (I kept the hairstyle).
All parts are printed without supports ✅.
Assembly should not be difficult 🔧.
The pupils are inserted into the eyes with a little force, each eye is marked with the letters R and L on the base. The eyes are glued into the eye sockets, and these areas have corresponding marks.
To make the eyes look correct, follow the reference image, pay attention to the position of the highlights (in this case, the sharp corner in the upper right part of the eye). I mixed up the left and right from the eggplant's perspective, it turned out the opposite, but it's not critical 😅, just follow the marks. The tongue and stem are also glued to the eggplant's body. Gluing the tongue is a bit more difficult because the mouth is not wide open, I hope you have good fine motor skills 👌!
I tried different coloring options, including a skin tone color, just out of interest.
For the googly (wiggle) eyes version, the eye sockets are marked with G. Eyes with a diameter of 7 mm are ideal for my models, but you can also use 5, 10, or 12 mm; just scale the model in the slicer to 71% (for 5 mm), 136% (for 10 mm), or 160% (for 12 mm) accordingly.
The small versions with wobbly eyes look very cute ☺️.
I noticed that sellers of googly eyes indicate sizes differently. Sometimes they list eyes as 6 mm which refers to the diameter of the clear part. The thin base of the eye would then be 7 mm (so I made the hole 7.5 mm). The eyes themselves must be glued, the adhesive base is not enough.
The whole version is relevant if you have an AMS and plan to print a batch, not just one.
As with the previous vegetables, there is a small hole in the stem so that it can be hung on a backpack or keychain 🔑. I made two versions of the stem with different hole shapes, stem_v2.stl is suitable for a smaller ring.
Sometimes I make a couple of versions with glossy eyes as gifts. In this case, I
treated them chemically, but now I have found a simpler method using a diamond file. The surface of the whites and pupils ends up looking very
natural ✨.

It is in the general 3DModels database (link for those who have access):

The faceless eggplant version is available on the well-known platforms where I am present.
