Chivalrous Brutalism.. Collection no.1

My very first collection, like all subsequent ones, was a reaction to the visual experience, through the prism of my personal feelings and the desire to impress myself..

It all started with "Kingdom of Heaven" by Ridley Scott, and this medieval romantic and martial image became my reference point.. I did not know then that this project would become my first collection, then it was only a photo project called 'Sophia' inspired by the Crusades, and the title was taken from the Dead Can Dance song.

Just like all this false knightly romance, these things are also in some way a hoax. It's not metal, it's plastic; this is not reality but fiction; it's not wearable..

Now, 10 years later, while working on my next new collection, I turn around again and return to these impressions and images. I turn again to the deceptive images of chivalrous romanticism, beauty, militancy and cruelty.. So next time, my inspiration and research will be another woman who will close this three-year project dedicated to special women, but more on that later..

But if you haven't guessed yet, my next work will be dedicated to Joan of Arc.
