Purchasing a Mac Mini for macOS compatibility with Ahoge.

Ahoge Version 0.6

Since my artists are on vacation and aren't available at the moment, it hasn't been tested. It might be a disaster, but I decided to release it anyway. Feedback is very welcome.

Changes:
1. Random number generation has been reworked. Generating random numbers in parallel is tricky, and I made mistakes that needed to be fixed.
2. A different type of noise has been added.
Blue noise should look more natural in some cases. However, it's experimental. 
3. install.mel  now supports localized Maya. It should work on Chinese Windows. 
4. Ahoge didn't update in the viewport during playback. It's fixed. 
5. GUI is updated. Icons are made bigger, so they look good on 4k displays. 
6. Default settings have been added. 
7. Export Alembic window is nicer now. 
It also can print errors. 
2025 seems to be working fine!
in trying to install in maya 2023, the install.mel file is creating the maya module path in the maya.env, but the plug in is not showing up after restarting help welcome?

Franco, you can try editing Maya.env manually 
I changed install.mel, so I might have broken it. I'll check Maya 2023 on Monday, if I find time.

Franco, remove the last line and change the first line MAYA_MODULE_PATH=C:\Program Files\Yeti;D:\maya_plugins\ahoge_module\ It seems like Yeti is messing up the environment.
Franco, it looks like it's possible that Yeti is polluting the environment and Ahoge can't render. If this is the case, also append to MTOA_EXTENSIONS_PATH in Maya.env D:\maya_plugins\ahoge_module\ahoge\mtoa

Dont work in Maya 2025.3, Maya Crash
Eduardo Chávez, I don't see any issues with my Maya 2025.3, and Justin K says it works, so I'm not sure what's going on.
The problem was the install mel, I put this plug via manual and works for me, now I watch the tutorial for how it work 
Eduardo Chávez, scripts shouldn't crash no matter what, so it's kind of strange. I can't replicate it.
Has anyone been able to run this on 2025.3 OSX? The install.mel works on my WIN machine but when I use it on a Mac, the .env gets created but there's no 'load' or 'auto load' check boxes in the Plugin Manager window. Reading through the docs, I see that Macs expect ahoge.bundle and not ahoge.mll. Is there a solution to this or am I missing something?
Offworld, I don't own a Mac, I can't afford one. I was planning to try using a VM to create a build, but I haven't found the time for it yet. I hope to support Mac in the future.
Why does the hair come out as circles? Help. I followed the tutorial on yt.
Julia, Ahoge's hair grows in the V direction of the surfaces. Swap U and V of the surfaces. There's also a tool for doing it automatically.

after Ahoge bas been installed for Maya 2025 on Mac, I can't find it at the pluge-in manager? how and why? plz provide some infors. thanks a lot.
Frank Liang, Maya plugins need to be compiled separately for each version of Maya. I don't own a Mac - I can't afford one. I tried using emulators, but they didn't work.
Ahoge, Thank u. looking forward a future update version that could work both windows and Mac.
