Changes:
1. Nurbopus didn't always create correctly because of how it was connected to the default shader. I changed it, so it should work now.
2. The "Fix Surfaces" tool has been dramatically improved.
The model is provided by JonCG https://www.youtube.com/@JonCG
A tutorial for this hairstyle will hopefully be coming soon!  It's a small teaser, so to speak.
Is it possible to compile it for M based MacOs systems (re create a .bundle file intead of windows only .mll !?)
Ahoge, Please try through a VM or rent/buy an m-based mac !? (simple macMini seems to be quite affordable nowadays) It would be great to have your plugin compatible with MacOs!!
Let me know if I can help!
Foivos Kourentas, after three days of trying, I couldn't get macOS Sequoia to run. My PC might be too old or something. I followed multiple tutorials, but nothing worked. It seems that even if I do manage to launch it somehow, it wouldn't have hardware acceleration, and Maya wouldn't start anyway. I wouldn't be able to test anything, so I gave up.
I'm looking forward to this tutorial!
Is it possible export from Maya as fbx to Unreal or Blender
Capi Capi, currently you can export as Alembic to Unreal. Not sure about Blender.
Ahoge, Great, then it might be possible to use Blender, Alembic is better. If I can get it in Blender with Alembic I'll let you know. It's a great tool, and I'm a fan of yours today. Thanks for this tool and for answering so quickly.
Ahoge, I am more than eager helping you here to help you create a MacOs port. Is there a way to share with me some instructions how may I compile that for you on an m-based Mac/
Foivos Kourentas, the project isn't open source. I would provide the source code if a company wanted to integrate Ahoge into their pipeline. Ahoge can function without Maya. For example, if you wanted to mass-generate hair in the cloud, you would need the source code. However, I probably wouldn't be willing to collaborate in that way for free.
Compiling Ahoge remotely would also be challenging. The install.mel file would need to be modified, and using a different compiler would likely result in initial failures. Currently, PowerShell compiles Ahoge for multiple versions of Maya. Porting it to an operating system I'm unfamiliar with would require significant time and effort.
Additionally, I may not be able to maintain future versions of Ahoge this way.
I’ll continue to look for a way to support Ahoge on macOS, but it will likely take some time.
Ahoge, thank you for considering porting it at some point. You plugin rocks and is a shame there is no macos port yet (a real deal braker for me)
hi dude, could compile mac os version its look like awesome you plugin...cheers
jp vfx, I can't afford a Mac. I tried emulating a newer macOS, but it didn't work.
It recently occurred to me that I could probably emulate an older x86 macOS and use that to compile the plugin, though I'm not sure if it would work.
