I make YourIsland: a pixel floating island where every commenter becomes a settler.
Leave a comment and you fall from the sky in the next episode, and you stay there. The island votes on what happens next, builds the things people ask for, and is mocked the whole time by a narrator who would rather be anywhere else. 322 settlers so far, and every one of them is a real person from the comments.
I make it on my own. I write the episodes, build the island and keep it running 24/7 at yourisland.io, where you can find your settler and watch them live.
My goals:
• a new episode every day
• 1,000 settlers on the island
• a better live site: more conversations, more to do, your own house on the map
• paying for the narrator's voice, the music and the server without cutting corners
