Summary of Art 2024
I'm back to this summarizing format :)
First (and most importantly), I am insanely grateful for the people who surround and support me - I'm damn lucky to have you in my life ❤❤❤ Thank you for that! You've made this year bearable for me :)
Next...
+ I started drawing more adoptables and fullbodies - just like I wanted to do
+ Almost stopped painting too cheap commissions and YCHs - it's still hard for me to tell people “Sorry, I can't paint for you for $1/hour like you want” (I'm exaggerating), but I can't really afford to paint that cheaply either. Still, painting has long been one of the ways for me to make money, and almost everything in my country has made +20-50% in a year to the price. I realize that in the current situation it's still very lucky that so little and the second 90's didn't happen, but it's still very unpleasant.
+ Stopped being shy - not about nudity, but about doing something weird :) “Like everyone else” - let everyone else do it, and I want to do everything the way I want :)
+ I started to enjoy drawing and life again
+ Participated in several projects that interest me, which will continue in 2025. It's more design than drawing, but I like the potential prospects
+ Watched a course and a half on drawing. Okay, one about drawing - how to paint and make shadows, and one about how to survive as an artist (I'm watching it now, though more like reading the subtitle file)
- I didn't paint as much as I would have liked and as I planned.
- I didn't get a lot done - not so much because of lack of time, but because of lack of energy and wrong prioritization. Yes, I blame myself again for not working through my teeth, even though I realize that I did everything I could. It's especially frustrating for the comic - there's not much left, but....
- I've almost stopped social networking. I had (and still have) periods where I just can't bring myself to interact with people, and social media is in that category. I'm trying to take it easier, convincing myself that I need it to find new customers.... But no, not this year.
In 2025 would be ideal:
❤ Not to fall back into a dark black pit.
❤ Finish what I didn't finish in 2024 (hehe).
❤ Do at least half of what I have planned for 2025
❤ Make drawing bring me more than 50% of my income, after all I like it too much to waste my time on “classical work” :) I'm too realistic for 90%, but to shift the boundary from “drawing is a part-time job funding my cat” to “drawing is what I do for a living.... mostly” I really want to :)
