How to isolate backing vocals
While our B.V.E. model is under development, we want to tell you how you can extract/isolate the backing vocals now.
Method one
1. Remove the lead vocals from the song with these settings: AI model → mdx (kar) v2 or uvr (kar) v2. Download the instrumental.
2. Extract the backing vocals from the instrumental with the mdx v2 (voc) model or Demucs V4 (2 stems).
Method two
1. Remove all vocals from the song with these settings: AI model → mdx v2 (voc). Download the instrumental.
2. Remove the lead vocals from the song with these settings: AI model → mdx (kar) v2 or uvr (kar) v2. Download the instrumental.
3. Subtract one instrumental from another with Audacity (or a similar audio editor).
Method three
1. Extract all vocals from the song with the mdx v2 (voc) model or Demucs V4 (2 stems). Download the Vocals.
2. Process the Vocals with these settings: Model → mdx (kar) v2 or uvr (kar) v2. The instrumental will contain the backing vocals.
Depending on the song, one method or another will be the best. For the best results, we recommend choosing the flac or wav format.
