The only wealth we can possess
Someone has a handsome household and a beautiful house, he sows much and receives much profit: but all this is not his own doing, but rather all around him. Praise that in him which can neither be taken away nor given, which belongs to the person himself.
You ask, what is this? The soul, and in it perfect reason. After all, man is a rational being; therefore, for him, the highest good is to fulfill that for which he was born.
And what does reason require of him? Nothing difficult: only to live according to his nature. This is difficult only because of the universal madness: we all push each other toward vice. How can we return to sanity those who are not restrained by anyone, but driven forward by the whole crowd? Farewell.

The soul is one of the parts of the threefold human nature, which, in addition to this part, also consists of the body and the spirit. The body is the physical vehicle of the Higher Principle, the Higher Self within man—the Spirit.
The soul is the bridge where the material and the spiritual meet, the channel through which the Higher transmits Power and guidance to the material.
What follows from this, and how can we apply it in life?
By developing our soul, we increase our capacity for the Power of the Spirit to enter our lives. It is known that the more Power we are filled with, the closer we become to our purpose, the more meaningful our life becomes.
When we experience apathy, disappointment, loss of strength, bouts of egoism and aggression coupled with fear, this indicates our cowardice, the underdevelopment of our spiritual qualities.
Such an unstable spiritual structure cannot nurture a mature and stable personality. Therefore, our task as knowing beings is to reveal our spiritual qualities, increasing the potential of the Power that sustains our personality. Since the individual is the center of our world, by improving it, we improve the world we live in.
We cannot strive to live in a better world without revealing in our own personality the same qualities we desire to see in the world we aspire to live in.
