The troops have set up camp and are building fortifications. They hadn't finished the stockade yet, but they were ready to defend themselves. They dug in stakes and reinforced gaps in the defense, lit large bonfires. You will have to attack the fort by inhaling smoke, bypassing stakes and getting your boots stuck in mud.
