🃏 «Cardboard Fate» ✨
After a solid 5-month hiatus of absolute radio silence, I have finally crawled out of my cave! 🦖 I literally had to blow a century's worth of dust off my tablet just to check if my drawing paws had completely atrophied.
Spoiler alert: I'm alive, and the skills are still physics-defying! I genuinely think this version is way more atmospheric, which is a total miracle considering I haven’t touched my stylus the entire time (absolute witchcraft, I swear 🔮).
Initially, I really wanted to capture that creepy-cool marionette and playing card aesthetic—playing around with the contrast between the rigid checkered floor and the chaotic, messy flight of the cards. In the end, it birthed this dramatic little inner synopsis:
She dances to the rhythm of falling cards. A puppet tied by invisible strings, caught in a game she cannot win. Is she the player or just a pawn in this madness? 👁️
And for those who love digging for deep, hidden meanings (and to make myself look fancy), I wrote some Latin phrases on the ritual circle behind her:
«Ludus insanus sine victore» (Insane game without a winner) — yup, that exact game she’s doomed to lose🎭
«Persona non ludi, sed pignus» (Not a player, but a pawn) — sounds incredibly spooky, ritualistic, and... honestly, relatable♟️
«Charta cadit, vita fluit» (The card falls, life flows away) — a poetic nod to the dynamic flying cards (and the way my youth leaks away while I procrastinate) ⏳
