ANDROID USERS — READ THIS BEFORE UPDATING v0.66+ 📱🧩
Hey everyone!
Quick heads-up: it looks like the Android build process treated this update like a brand-new app, which means the game isn’t seeing your old saves automatically. PC, Mac, and Linux are NOT affected—this only hits Android.
Workaround (Android): before you install the new build, copy your saves out, then paste them back after installing.
🛠️ Step-by-step (on Android)
You’ll need a file manager that can access Android/data (some popular ones can; if yours can’t, connect to a PC and use the USB method below).
Before installing the new APK
- Open your file manager.
- Go to:Internal storage/Android/data/<OLD_PACKAGE_NAME>/files/saves/(Look for the folder that clearly belongs to Naughty Neighbours—often starts with com. and the game/developer name.)
- Copy the entire saves folder to a safe place (e.g., Downloads/NaughtyNeighboursBackup/).
Install the new APK (don’t uninstall the old one yet if you can avoid it).
After installing
4. In your file manager, go to the new path:
Internal storage/Android/data/<NEW_PACKAGE_NAME>/files/
5. If there isn’t a saves folder yet, create one.
6. Paste your backed-up saves folder here. Overwrite if Android asks.
7. Launch the game and load as normal. 🎉

💻 USB / PC method (if your phone blocks Android/data)
- Connect your phone to a computer via USB (use File Transfer/MTP mode).
- On the phone, find and copy:Internal storage/Android/data/<OLD_PACKAGE_NAME>/files/saves/
- Install the new APK.
- On the phone, paste the saves into:Internal storage/Android/data/<NEW_PACKAGE_NAME>/files/saves/
- Start the game and load your save.
If you’re unsure which folders are which: open Android/data/ and look for directories that include “naughtyneighbours” or your developer name; the older one will contain your existing saves, the newer one may be empty until you run the game once.
I’ll dig into why the Android pipeline did this and get it back to the usual seamless upgrade path. In the meantime, this workaround should get you playing right away.
