If you are wondering such questions as "why" and were just shy to ask me, here are some thoughts and revelations behind the scenes from the author of what you have seen on the subreddit for a long time! 

To be honest, I never thought it would go beyond an ordinary joke. I was sitting playing a text role-playing game, in a conference with other people - playing on the fandom, you guessed it, Dead by Daylight! With my beloved unidentified indescribable Unknown. I played with Sable, and from our interactions in a small circle of friends, there was a frequent joke about how his stalking is personal. I think it's no secret that in the DbD and horror community in general, many maniacs are romanticized, especially stalkers. In the real world, such an idea is incredibly frightening, but in games or movies it's like devotion. Sable, as a character, often showed a lighter and even romanticizing attitude towards horror, finding it fascinating, not terrifying. And so, THAT just came up

You understood everything correctly, even the first image from the archive was not, in fact, the very first one. THAT was. Some shitty stickman meme from internet. Looking at this, I'm surprised how far I've come. As a joke, I started making more of these, mostly redrawing other memes, on the topic of an awkward creep relationship between a girl and a monster.
I have to say, I LOVE the romance of humans and monsters. Beauty and the Beast, The Shape of Water, Corpse Bride, Warm Bodies, Phantom of the Opera, Edward Scissorhands, Amphibian Man, many many MANY great stories spark a sense of beauty in me, when I see that there may be something bright inside the monster, that only kind eyes and true heart can see.

The more I thought about it, the more it made sense.

To be honest, I was originally aiming for this style. JPEG, rough, with a reduced quality, stickhuman style. And at first, I think it even worked out, but then I started to go into more and more complex forms, I think I found the motivation to try harder because people surprisingly liked it...

But I thought it would be more expensive and noticed that people appreciated it less. Oh well.

A couple of jokes here and there, one fan-pairing from fools in the text, a lot of positive feedback from people, and now I'm finding more and more sense in a romance that I initially thought was a joke. So let me share my thoughts...

The topic of what the Unknown is has always been a subject of debate.

And to be honest, one of the most popular theories in the community strongly supports this. The main idea is that he is a product of mass hysteria and paranoia, absorbed the features of rumors about missing people. Serial killers in the form of his typical weapons like axes, knives, scissors and tools. Alien origin, due to the strange appearance of the tentacles. A mutant, because it has an unknown poison that has not been fixed by science, and has many records of itself as an object of study by government organizations, not to mention his distorted human anatomy... And paranormal activity, which is confirmed by his ability to inexplicably liquidate a person and absorb into himself down to clothes, voice, personality. He never took only someone else's skin to wear - he took the whole person. Also manages to make hallucinations.
SO. A creature generated by public thoughts... And capable of changing from them. Born out of fear, inclined to kill because he has never been imagined otherwise. No one has ever imagined him in the family circle, or loved by someone - endless gossip about serial killers, mutants, aliens, paranormal phenomena and death. But...
One person will be enough, who is able to look into the eyes of horror and finds delight. Sable Ward. 

This is one of the strongest motivations I have found to continue drawing further. The subject is "I can fix him". And to be honest, I didn't even notice it at first, but now you can - over time, among my works, from the very first to the last, he begins to show more and more human emotions. A toothy grin and an empty eye sockets are increasingly replaced by a real smile, bitterness, a drooping look, joy, he begins to show real emotions from the inside, because someone believes that he capable of it. Capable of feeling. 

I just have to mention him, and if you're reading this, YOU KNOW IT IS TRUE. Just at the beginning of my long-running madness for Sable and the Unknown, I came across such a talented person who lit a fire of confidence and inspiration in me.

His name is GUNKYDEVIL.
This person. One of the kindest people I've ever talked to. He's shy, funny, and in his colorful drawings he perfectly shows the same vibe that lies in me - forbidden romance between a monster and a human, love, passion, compassion!

He draws on other interesting killers from movies and DbD too, so I strongly recommend that you visit his social media!

On the phone! How much of a motivator can you be, Gunky? You are a living embodiment of how creativity flourishes no matter what kind of tools you have!

I fully expected a negative reaction to something so unusual that I'm doing, but positive feedback from people don't let me get discouraged. Sometimes it's really funny - a couple of times I've been accused of drawing tentacle fetishes, and even necrophilia, because according to one loony "the Unknown is a corpse into which tentacles have climbed". Which is not confirmed anywhere in the lore... But he was just stating it as a fact.
Any positive feedback from you really negate such a shitshow, I don't plan to stop anytime soon х) 

Sometimes it's really hard for me to turn down people's requests, but I find it difficult to get interested in some of the characters they want to see.

An easy hint for you guys - I love monsters.
