About

Hi!

I'm Beesa, 28 y.o.

I'm a self-taught equine artist who has been drawing since 2010. In this blog I'll show you some glimpses behind-the-scenes that I don't share in my other media sources. You'll find here sketches, wips of my art (maybe even timelapses), lifestyle photos and my thoughts on little things related to my non-artist life. Of course, you'll see my completed artworks here as well. 😄 Saddle up, and let's ride!

Winged unicorn in the jungle

A unicorn was found in the Amazonic jungle!! ⚡️
When I was commissioned with a unicorn in the jungle, I didn't realize that the mane has lotuses instead of lilies, so the jungle should probably be in Asia :D But I got carried away with drawing palms and vines so much that I hadn't think about it at all. It's so relaxing to make guide lines with the vines 🪷

Mustang in the woods

A while ago, I was commissioned to draw a portrait of a mustang (in April, and it took me two months to sketch it out, and then a couple more months to color it). The client requested a detailed forest, so I agreed, and then started thinking about how I would do it. I draw forests pretty often, but I haven't found a consistent workflow that works well for me. Sometimes I start by drawing all the trunks and branches, and sometimes I just use a scatter brush to draw the foliage, but neither method works very well. This time I watched a few tutorials before I started and it helped.
Also I've made a talking video on YouTube where I share my thoughts on the process. There's no speedpaint, just me complaining and talking about the tutorials and brushes I used lol
P.S. It's extremely hot here, almost 40 degrees Celsius, so I'm barely holding up.

I was asked to make a realistic horse out of a My Little Pony character, whose theme is rain and butterflies, so I came up with this. It might have a little y2k vibe to it because of the effects, but I like it even more this way. Makes me think of times when I spent hours on online forums back in my childhood

Wildfire

In honor of the Year of the Fire Horse, I was commissioned to create an illustration with a fire-themed character in a free format, so I decided to experiment a bit with the composition. Here's how it turned out

I finished the logo for official.moonweasels 💜 They planned to use it as an avatar, so I chose a composition of a crescent moon and a black horse contrasting against white light

I've drawn a light grey pegasus... I hadn't drawn wings in a while so I had to remember how to do that

I made a banner for another club, this time with a rabbit theme. Drawing the bunnies turned out to be easier than I thought, but I had to spend some time on the lighting

A portrait of a little horse. I wanted to give her some kind of spring background, or early summer. I adore this time of year, when the foliage is just starting to appear, it has such a tender-green color. It's raining cats and dogs today, so everything is twice as cool

Баннер

Баннер для клуба Enchanted Vampires

Such big works always take the soul out of me :D When there are so many details, it takes a very long time to render them (as well as matching them by tone, by color) and constantly doubting this or that pixel. It is extremely tiring. By the way, the last time I drew people was about two years ago, so it was fun to try again!
