Recrafted: v0.1.3 Changelog
Hey Supporters, Recrafted v0.1.3 is finally released!
v0.1.3 is the biggest update yet, roughly twice the size of update v0.1.2. Here's a comparison video to showcase some of the changes you'll see visually in this update.
Additions, Tweaks & Updates:
- New Lightmap Shader (1.21.5 & 1.21.8 Only) – Recrafted now has a modified lightmap, that boosts shadows, enhancing the depth and realism in just about every scene.
- Redesigned wildflowers, poppies, azure bluets, and dandelions – This includes new textures, models, colormaps, baked-in shadows, and interactive particle effects.
- Proportionate sword models – An experimental feature that gives swords larger, more realistic in-hand proportions, with potential expansion to other items later.
- Updated Dark Forest Colormaps – With the new colormaps & lightmaps, the difference between the dark forest in v0.1.3 and v0.1.2 is massive.
- Upgraded Leaf Litter – It now has baked in shadows, an improved colormap, and redone interactive particles; it's quite satisfying to watch.
- Diamond Armor Retexture – It's just a recolor of the other armors for now, but it'll help in keeping things consistent; the plan is to update it to use a unique design later.
- New Ingot & Nugget Retextures – Includes iron, gold, copper, and netherite ingot textures, alongside iron and gold nugget textures.
- Updated Netherite Color Palette – The netherite color palette is slightly brighter and more colored, closer to the vanilla style.
- New Misc. Item Retextures – Includes raw gold, Nether Brick, enchanted book, and blue and brown egg textures.
- Wooden Tool Retextures – Once again, a small but much needed addition.
- New Arrow Handheld Display – The player holds the arrow properly now.
- Grass Overlay Textures – Just a feature that's needed to be in the pack for a while now.
- New Bushy Leaves – Includes cherry, jungle, azalea, and flowering azalea leaves.
- Rebalanced Ambient SFX & Added Birds to Ambient Sounds – You can now enjoy the sounds of birds, with the previously loud wind ambience turned down; take a listen.
- Reworked Pack settings – The settings now have category tabs, and individual toggles for animated leaves, grass, ferns, bushy leaves, light rays, fog, and the lightmap.
- New Inventory GUI – The inventory UI design is finally consistent, similar changes will roll out for the rest of the GUI next update.
- Updated Main Menu – it now features a brand new panorama, widget retextures, and the newer version of the Recrafted Logo.
Fixes & Cleanups:
- Block & Item Fixes – Removed leftover B&W azalea development textures, fixed potted poppies and dandelions, corrected red Nether Brick colors, updated stone tool outline palettes, and fixed double-tinted leaf block items in 1.21.1.
- Particle & VFX Fixes – Fixed missing snowflakes in snowy weather, removed test light-ray particles, prevented fog color bleeding into clouds, fixed shadow colormap overlap with secondary foliage, and removed Soul Sand Valley sandstorms.
- Foliage Color Corrections – Fixed inverted cloud shadows in autumn forests, corrected bush palettes to match grass, adjusted plains foliage, updated jungle colormaps, fixed swapped swamp grass colors, and corrected fern colors in Old Growth Birch Forests.
- Fog System Improvements – Fog modifiers now lock fog distance above 16 render distance to preserve visuals and support biome-variant fog values.
- Cloud Shadow Improvements – Switched cloud shadows to block tags to support more blocks, including modded ones.
- GUI Changes – Temporarily removed container GUI textures ahead of the major GUI rework in v0.1.4.
- Cleanup & Removals – Removed all unintended or outdated item, GUI, block textures, block states, and models, as well as unintended player damage SFX.
Closing Notes
Overall, v0.1.3 is a substantial step toward bringing Recrafted into a more polished and consistent state, both visually and functionally. This update focuses heavily on refinement, cleanup, and cohesion across the pack, smoothing out many long-standing inconsistencies. I hope you enjoy the update and notice the difference it makes to the overall experience.
