A simple enthusiast and hip-hop lover who is trying to put together a digital archive of old hip-hop magazines: The Source, Rap Pages, Elemental, Scratch, Yo! Magazine, Stress, XXL, Insomniac, Tablist, Blaze, Murder Dog, Hip-Hop Connection, SubCulture, Elementary, etc.

A bit of statistics...

I have been scanning and processing hip-hop magazines for about 10 years.
During this time I have uploaded 158 issues of different magazines, including 80 issues of The Source, 47 issues of Rap Pages. A total of 20066 pages have been scanned and processed. 50 different magazines are publicly available.
In future post, I'll go into more detail about the site functionality available to subscribers.

The Source February 1995

February 1995 issue of The Source is now available, which includes:
• An autobiography by MC Eiht, going over his entire life, from childhood to joining a gang, seeing deaths of his friends, starting rapping, as well as expressing his view on gang violence
• A feature article about Too Short, on why he moved to Atlanta, his opinion on the Wu-Tang Clan, his relationship with women, his view on promiscuity, and his loyal fan base
• A feature article about Black Sheep, in preparation for the release of their second album, Non-Fiction, talking about their view on violence, favorite artists from childhood, and their view on the portrayal of women in pop culture

Rap Pages November 1998

November 1998 issue of Rap Pages is now available, which includes:
• A feature article about OutKast, the first cover story about the group in a hip-hop publication, talking about the importance of their debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, the changes the group employed on their second album, ATLiens, and what the group has to offer when it comes to their new album, Aquemini, their view on longevity
• A feature article about Do or Die, discussing their latest album, Heads or Tails, spirituality, as well as running their own label and building a studio for Chicago's hip-hop talent

Rap Pages May 1998

May 1998 issue of Rap Pages is now available, which includes:
• A feature article about Sunz of Man, discussing their connection with the Wu-Tang Clan, how the groups differ, the state of hip-hop at the time, and how the group wants to educate their listeners
