Some prehistory and how the world works

In order for anyone interested to understand the intrigue, I’ll tell you a little about the world of the game. (illustrations are not full-fledged art, but are fast neural network generation for clarity)
Here, there is a planet very similar to our Earth with the development of civilization in the style of alternative history at the level of the 17-18 centuries.
A long time ago, a comet flew to this planet and left a huge crater on the continent. People on the rest of the material do not know what is inside this less, because when humanity tried to conduct an expedition, strange and terrible things began to happen to the researchers. When crossing the mountain separating the crater from the rest of the world, they were first seized by wild fear. If, despite the fear, they decided to move on, then the fear would develop into panic, later unbearable headaches would appear, and in the end, the body would become exhausted. Well, mechanical gadgets like compasses on the approaches to the valley were simply rearranged. In general, those who did not return back, probably died there. This place was called Terra Incognita.
Our MC, Alric, who is mentioned in the post below, did not end up there of his own free will - his death penalty was replaced by exile there (believing that this is the same death penalty, but with some illusory chance of survival). Our hero experienced everything described above, but he adapted, survived and finally reached the inner part of the valley. It turned out to be what it turned out to be:
Inside Terra Incognita, which the locals call the Valley of Hem, evolution during this time has taken a completely different path: magic reigns here, the population consists of both ordinary people and creatures of various quirks, and all this somehow coexists in relative harmony. In fact, there has long been an isolated ecosystem here, so none of the locals can go outside: the atmosphere outside the valley is even more destructive for them than the local one for the “People-from-behind-the-mountains.”
The society is strictly hierarchical. The main power belongs to the Guilds, each of which is responsible for something of its own, such as:
The Guild of Merchants that is responsible for supplying cities with everything they need and beyond.
The Guild of Slavers that provides the population with free labor.
The Guild of Artisans, which is responsible for the production of quality goods.
The Guild of Mercenaries that provides the population with fighting force for various tasks.
The Guild of Mages, which is responsible for the local equivalent of technical development, since technology, as we understand it, does not function in the valley.
The old revenant, the local analogue of vampires, has ruled this all for at least several hundred thousand years.
The MC, which was mentioned in the previous post, is adjacent to the Slavers Guild and over the next three years takes a very prominent place in it. And then... then an event happens that makes him the only person in history who can move freely from the Valley and back. This event leads to the beginning of the said story.
