Liubov Volkova

My name is Liubov Volkova, I am a graphic designer.

In 2020 during quarantine I changed my engineering career to photography and graphic design. I started my studies in Art and Documentary Photography Academy Fotografika in Saint-Petersburg and in parallel took a graphic design professional retraining course.

I am passionate highly motivated graphic designer with great level of self discipline and time management skills. I used to work as a civil and structural engineer, project manager, I worked in international multicultural team in a huge engineering project with Finnish company. My strong advantage is system thinking: I am looking for the best creative decision for a design task considering the big picture. I am always full of ideas and I am the person who usually inspires to try something new. Good team player as well as a leader. I think my best qualities are fast learning, hard work and empathy.

I am specialising in design of friendly youth visual identities for responsible consumption projects and projects for kids. Love to do unique lettering logos. For me it is important to work on projects cohesive with my own values and mission.

I made identity for souvenir and polygraphy shop, powerbank sharing company, package for eco-toothbrushes, toy shop and car tuning company. In all mentioned projects I designed the whole brand identity: starting from scratch ideas and logo design, ending with creative social media layouts and printed products.

I designed visual identity for baker which included whole pack of printed materials — from business card to formal blanks and stickers. As well as printed materials it included work with social media profile as it is the main channel of communication with clients.

Made several graphic works for my photography projects, designed postcards that were printed.

I usually work in a close connection to a customer. During my work I meet with a client in person or with video calls several times to have deep understanding of the design task and to be sure that we are looking to the same direction with a client.

If you have a complex task for design such as visual identity that includes web design, animation and illustrations, I can’t do it alone but I can recommend good colleagues to work on your project as a design team.

My photography projects were published in The Calvert Journal, Pupilsphere magazine, PrivatePhotoReview and others. In September of 2021 I participated in a group show with my photography project The Roundel. Printed works are in private collections.
