We’re early. That’s the honest part.
Telegram is still the shop window and the delivery truck. It was fast. It was cheap. It worked — until someone else’s rules, someone else’s claim, someone else’s “this archive can no longer be stored” decides what survives.
By 2027 Telegram should not be the only place the files live.
**HeheChat** is the piece we actually control. Not another chat glued onto someone else’s cloud. Our catalog. Our rules. Our export. The only standing cost is servers and S3 storage.
S3, for anyone who doesn’t live in infra: specialized disks and servers built to hold large file libraries for years — not until a channel gets a takedown.
**How we cut the bill**
Raw dumps are expensive. Photoshop sources. Lychee / Chitubox projects. Intermediate layers. “Just in case” duplicates. You pay for that weight every month.
We’ll store without that ballast. Clean models. Sensible archives. Our own format.
Rough number: **~30 TB**.
If we keep it in **`.hehe`**, early estimates say storage cost can drop by about half. Not magic. Just not hauling other people’s junk.
There’s a lot of work left: indexing, rights, dedup, backups, speed — so “download this author” isn’t a three-evening quest.
**Why this is for you, not just us**
We don’t want you — or us — locked to a single venue forever.
Flexibility, in practice:
- files live with us, not only “somewhere in a channel”
- if your disk can take it — **one click, entire author**
- if a platform changes the rules tomorrow, the archive doesn’t vanish with the post
This is not “kill Telegram.” Telegram can stay the storefront. Storage and export become ours.
