Chapter 5 - Devlog 3 (Back from Hiatus)
Hello everyone!
In the last devlog, I informed you that due to personal circumstances, the game would be going on hiatus for the duration of March.
I'm happy to announce that after one hell of a month, I'm finally back to working on RomCom: Divergence on a somewhat regular basis!
What's Been Done?
Not much, since I could only take the few moments that life allowed me, but still enough to warrant a (small) devlog!
(Note: More details below)
- Rewrote parts of Chapter 5 and added new events
- Worked on some visual assets (not quite renders yet)
- Started working on character outfits
Chapter 5 'Rewriting'
I didn't have time to do everything I had planned yet.
For now, we've gone from 24 to 28 events... though I actually added five and merged two old ones together.
I also fleshed out a lot of the existing events.

Chapter 5 will now lean a bit more into slice-of-life.
Patch content should be plentiful, both with the planned H-scenes and what will be "sprinkled" into regular events.
As for actual length...
Chapter 5's script was written a bit differently than previous ones, so I can't make a 1:1 comparison, but...
It's roughly equivalent to two Chapter 3s put together, with the prologue as a bonus.

Present Haptales is quite happy, though Future Haptales, who's going to make the renders, will absolutely hate it!

What's next
- Finish improving the last few remaining events (~6)
- Finish creating new outfits
- Start working on the renders
The Scene Scribbles for this chapter should start next week.
(I still have to look into a few maps, but it should be ready by then.)

Hard to say, since Chapter 5 is massive, and I sadly won't have the luxury of working on the game full-time this time around. (Gotta eat.)
