Tiny Bomber (EN)
So you don’t get bored here, I found a few GIFs from my small pixel game; I released it for Android. Do you remember this game from somewhere before — maybe on a phone, or it just went viral somewhere? I remember something similar with a submarine, where you had to shoot upward and knock down ships. If you recall the original, leave it in the comments!
But only hyper-casual games survive on Google Play, which is not my taste at all. By the way, my Google Play developer account was taken away because I didn’t update anything there for a long time — very sad, of course.
I had a few games there; maybe someday I’ll upload them all to itch io, since it was pretty addictive to just tap the screen.
I built the first version literally in a few hours
There was a lot of testing, and the main thing is to find a landing spot and glide there along the longest straight line, regardless of altitude:
Then there were experiments with dropping the projectile; once I even got a funny effect, but it was quite unintuitive, so I decided not to keep it:
Oh, and of course my favorite menu animations. Here’s, for example, the leaderboard:
Another variant with a little plane flying away:
According to the lore, the plane was crash-landing and clearing its way. So I added engine smoke. And to make it more dramatic, burning people would jump out of buildings and run away in panic.
By the end the engine already started to burn, and if you managed to land, you’d jump out of the plane on fire and complete the level!
Does it make sense to build for Windows and upload it to itch.io?
yeah!
