How to pay on Boostу.to

This account was created to receive payments for my artworks due to the blocking of PayPal and other payment services in Russia. This site works like a Patreon or Buy Me a Coffee, where you subscribe to paid content, but I use it to receive one-time payments. If you are still not sure about my integrity, you can check my Instagram, where I post quite regularly and send me DM there.

I've also asked my buyers to share their payment experience with the Boosty site in the comments for this post. Hope this will help to dispel any doubt you could have had.

Here's a short tutorial on how to make a payment on Boosty

1. Follow a link I'll send you. It will lead to a specific post at the amount of your order converted to Russian rubles (the only currency available on Boosty).

2. Change the language to English if necessary in the header of the site.

3. Click "Log in" button in the header. Sign in to the site using one of the social networks or phone number. This will take you not more than 30 seconds.

4. Click "Buy for..." button. There will be an option to choose payment currency. I can set post price only in Russian rubles, but during checkout it can be changed to US dollars. Due to double conversion there could be a minor price variance comparing to the initial order amount.

5. Choose a payment method: bank card or PayPal

6. Finish the payment using the chosen method

7. That' all!

If you're still not sure about using Boosty and need a trusted source rather than my opinion, you can read this post on Reddit. The comments to the post are a bit controversial, but it's totally clear it's a legit site, and the only way to receive payments for Russian artists.

Boosty was easy to use. It made it much easier than a lot of other ways to make payment to someone in a foreign country. I'd be glad to use it again to order another piece of art in the future.

Absolutely straightforward to pay. Since you can also use PayPal you've got lots of layers of protection! I love that it gives me access to art I may not otherwise have! ❤️

Boosty was very quick to set up.

To anyone purchasing in the United States: It took roughly a month and a half for me to receive my order. I have no complaints about this but knowing this might help anyone else who feels nervous about the delivery length.

When I attempted to pay directly by credit card, there was an unfamiliar payment error that made me anxious about the boosty system. When I used PayPal to make the payment, there was no issue. If you are reading this in the future, for your own peace of mind, I recommend using PayPal with this system. I will be cautiously checking my credit card statements to make sure there are no unauthorized charges for quite some time after my initial experience.

You can buy paid subscription in the right sidebar, or choose donate button or send tip in the left sidebar, if you're using desktop version. If you're using mobile version, send tip and subscribe buttons are on the top of the main page and donate button is after «About» section.

I received my delft blue dinosaur coasters about two weeks after making my payment to Evgeniya through Boosty! I was a bit nervous using Boosty, but I understand the international payment situation with Russia is awkward now, so I was willing to take the chance to support a cool artist and it worked out just fine for me. Evgeniya stayed in contact and sent me tracking information when the coasters shipped.

Love the coasters, they have a great painted texture to them and they're nice quality ceramic! And the artwork is so stylish, it feels like traditional delftware but with dinosaurs. :)

Hi there, sorry for bothering you. I live in Australia now and I can't use paypal for some reason. My visa card only has AUD, if I purchase a USD link, will it directly deduct AUD at the exchange rate, or do I need to top up my account with USD?

Hi Reika, PayPal doesn't work on Boosty for about a year or so. I'm not a skilled specialist in Boosty payments, but as I know authors can set the price only in roubles. It's converted in dollars for non-Russian users. I'm almost sure you don't have to top up your account with USD and that the currency conversion will be automanical at the exchange rate of your bank.
