November available

November — an artwork about one remarkable plant — Acer negundo, or box elder. This small tree, native to North America, is astonishingly resilient and quick to conquer new territories — I gathered these samaras in the Urals, on the opposite side of the world.

60 years ago, these fast-growing trees were admired and proudly displayed in garden collections. Escaping cultivation, they adapted to the local climate with ease and grace. Today, the box elder is considered an invasive species and is officially listed among the biological threats of the Urals.
⚔️ It seems that its history of expansion won’t let the tree stop moving — even in the frozen Ural November. The rustle of samaras fills the snowy silence with a silvery whisper. For me, that’s the sound of November in the Urals.
