Yosemite National Park is an American national park in California

Yosemite National Park is home to some of the tallest granite monoliths in the world, including the iconic El Capitan and Half Dome. These massive rock formations attract rock climbers from around the globe.
The highest peak in Yosemite National Park is Mount Lyell, which stands at an elevation of 13,114 feet (3,997 meters) above sea level.
The park's mountains were formed by glacial activity during the last Ice Age, resulting in dramatic U-shaped valleys, sheer cliffs, and hanging valleys, which contribute to the park's stunning landscape.
Many of the peaks in Yosemite have Native American names, reflecting the cultural and historical significance of the area to indigenous tribes such as the Ahwahneechee people. For example, the name "Yosemite" itself is derived from the Miwok word for "killer," a reference to a battle that took place in the area.
