Some updates
Right now the treatment plan has changed from radiation therapy to surgery. It will be a little cheaper, and most importantly, better for the cat. If all goes well, the improvement will come much faster. The surgery is scheduled for April 1, and we have collected most of the amount thanks to caring people. We have money for the surgery itself, but we still have to travel to another city, spend money on temporary housing and various unforeseen circumstances (jospitalization and intensive care in case of complications can be very expensive.). So for now, the collection continues.
We will have a very good surgeon, Sotnikov, with extensive experience in removing brain tumors in cats and dogs, he is really cool, and we feel much calmer! We have a good chance of surviving the surgery and recovering. He is one of two surgeons in Russia who constantly and successfully performs such operations. The clinic is in St. Petersburg, where we will go from the Moscow region. It is not very close, but not very far either, so the road should not take much effort.
It may seem like we suddenly changed our minds, but the radiologist we consulted with about radiation therapy himself scheduled a consultation with Sotnikov about the advisability of surgical removal of the tumor. So we are doing everything according to plan. We were very lucky to get in line, because the doctor goes on vacation in April, and we jumped on the last train. Now we have to solve many small logistical problems, but the most important thing is going well.
We have become much calmer, and we really believe in a good result. It was a completely crazy week, when at first they told us that we needed to find and remove the tumor. Then, after the MRI, we were told that the tumor could not be removed due to its size and the volume of brain damage. Then - that if it was reduced with radiation therapy, then it could be removed. But now a consultation with a professional put an end to this tossing and turning. Whatever happens next, we have the best option of all possible.

E Libris, Thank you for your warm wishes!
Yes, it's been a tough week, but I didn't expect at least the financial issue to be resolved so quickly! We'll be safe in that sense. In the last few days, we've found a good combination of painkillers, and Yuppie feels much more cheerful. She's started purring again, and yesterday she bit me at the vet's:)
