Heyo everyone!
New Nimeria date + sex scene dropped, plus fresh bed scenes. Straight up Nimeria overload 😏
Tried a different approach for the animations on these ones. Felt like mixing things up a bit.
This post's gonna be longer than usual cause there’s a few things to go over.
On the side I started messing with a whole different battle system for the next chapter (still a long way off). Basics are already working, now it’s just tuning and polishing.
Not rushing it. I’ll just work on it when I got some time between other stuff. Main thing right now was checking if the idea even works and what I’d actually need to build it.
Won’t bore you with all the technical details but the goal is to simplify a lot - stats (like expertise, combatstats), resources, battle system, dungeon building, all of it. The new system will basically combine the old ones (dungeon defense + regular battle) into one thing with different modes.
More player interaction overall. Still don’t want to change how the game feels though. Battles won’t eat up more time than they already do. Visual novel side stays the main focus.
It’s bullet heaven style. All characters on the map. You control the MC and your teammates back you up.
Once their lust fills they can either start groping the MC and follow him around for a while… or they grab another character and drag them into one of the huts in the corner to have fun. You can run into them to stop it. Click the hut afterwards to see what they’re doing inside.
You can place traps too, same as dungeon defense.
Fights shouldn’t take longer than current dungeon defenses and you can speed them up. Only special story boss fights might last a bit longer.
New system only kicks in from the end of chapter 10 onwards. Everything before that keeps using the old systems.
You can already jump straight to chapter 8 right now - I’m widening that so you can jump all the way to the end of chapter 10 too.I’m also thinking about splitting the game at the end of chapter 10 / start of chapter 11 into Bonds Defiled 1 and Bonds Defiled 2. Still the same game, updates will automatically hit both since they are still the same game, but it’ll keep the file size more reasonable.
For the new battle system I had to switch engines. SugarCube just isn’t built for action content. The test was simple: can I plug another engine directly into SugarCube? Turns out yes, it worked.
Only real downside: the new engine (right now only used for battles) hates the file paths some local browsers use. It wants the game running on a server. That’s why I added a new .exe version to the new update that can already be used (might even run faster than some browsers). I also got a fix ready so it’ll work on local browsers too - I know some of you need that for translations.
Even once the new system goes live you’ll still be able to play in browser locally or use the .exe (whatever you prefer).
If you wanna test the new exe it’s already in the game files (mac and linux versions are in there too but they need real testing). Just export your saves first cause it uses a different save folder. Right now it runs separate from the launcher - you update through the launcher like normal then start the exe on its own. Later both versions will be properly integrated into the launcher.
