\-Creation, The Beginning of the War -
Approximately
500 years ago, in a sector of space remote from cultural and civilized hubs, a
race arrogantly calling themselves the "Masters" began voraciously
conquering neighboring planets and systems. Although they were not initially
strong warriors, they made a phenomenal breakthrough in genetic engineering and magic. To start the war, they created a mighty army and named it "The
Beast." These soldiers were hybrids of many creatures from worlds
conquered earlier... In addition to exceptional physical strength, the Beasts
were endowed with an amazing ability to quickly adapt to the conditions of
different planets — with different atmospheres, gravity, radiation. The Beasts
were highly skilled with various types of cold weapons — and this proved
extremely useful for territories where the Masters had preemptively blocked all
magic and technology. The Beasts quickly learned the languages of other planets — they could do this almost at the level of telepathy. Fearing an uprising by their creations, the Masters pre-programmed them for complete obedience and limited their lifespan to 30 years. Over time, the soldiers became
semi-sentient killing machines, under the command of individual commanders to
whom knowledge was passed down from generation to generation.

The Masters
did not create female specimens, but Beasts could produce offspring with almost any species of another race, with only male Beasts being born, and the mother never surviving childbirth. Due to a high metabolism, the offspring turned into adult combat units within a few years. Additionally, Beasts could transform male creatures of other species into Beasts through various methods, including magic or biological weapons. The mind of the transformed being was also altered, becoming obedient to the Masters and accepting their orders. Thus, many planet was assimilated, more than one civilization was exterminated, and the army grew and multiplied.

\-Degradation and an Unexpected Alliance -
After 50 years, the Beasts and the Masters began encroaching upon planets and systems whose inhabitants were much stronger in terms of technology and magic. Of course, the arrogant behavior of the military predators simply shocked the civilized races, who had no intention of tolerating it. Furthermore, in the Beast army, due to degradation, the number of commanders was dwindling, as was the number of more or less sane and rational soldiers. The third factor, the most surprising — contrary to the general degradation, some Beasts began to develop new feelings, thoughts, and emotions. They questioned why their life
was eternal war and subjugation, while other beings lived peacefully and
diversely. There is a legend that one of the Beasts sincerely fell in love with
a female of another people and, saving her life, went against his own squad. It
is believed that this fact so astonished the Civilized Ones that they made
contact with the Beasts. A pact was created, in which the Beasts promised to
tell the Civilized Ones (who also called themselves Technomages) the location of the Masters' homeworld, all their military secrets, in exchange for the Beast
race being spared. What the Masters so feared had come to pass, even in the
worst-case scenario. They never expected their creations to form an alliance
with those they were fighting against. Of course, not all Beasts betrayed their
Masters, and the latter had accumulated many new military developments. The
battles lasted several days. Both on the planets themselves and on orbital
stations. But, as there were far more systems of the Civilized Technomages, the
Masters' forces were defeated, and the Beasts who remained loyal to them lost
their command structure.

\- Rebirth. Becoming -
After the victory over the Masters, the alliance, alongside the Technomages, began to contemplate the future fate of the Beasts. Many options were proposed. From settling the Beasts on a habitable planet, to exterminating them despite the agreement. In the end, they came to the opinion to recognize them as a new race, worthy of existence. Not many liked this, considering all that the Beasts had managed to do during the years of war, but eventually the allies agreed. The Technomages, as the most advanced, took them under their guardianship. By studying and utilizing the equipment and technologies of the Masters on their planet, they adjusted the Beasts' genome. Setting metabolism to a normal level, thereby increasing their lifespan by 4.5 times — to about 133 years. They selected a planet that best suited their physiological specifics. Provided basic technologies for development. The reborn Beasts explored their new home — the planet named Beastarion — with curiosity and enthusiasm.
\- The Planet Beastarion -
Who lived on this planet before, what its history is, the Beasts do not know, but they try to research it on their own — the Technomages deliberately do not give them a complete picture of knowledge so that the Beasts use their own minds. The political system that gradually formed on Beastarion resembles Soviet communism — many things are communal, excessive accumulation of wealth is frowned upon. For Beasts, religion is replaced by faith in the Technomages, with whom only special Beasts, usually those in power, can regularly communicate. But in case of great need, any other Beast can contact the Technomages — this minimizes the chance of sects and differing interpretations of the Technomages' wishes.
However, understanding that the universe is infinite, and that more powerful
forces likely stand above the Technomages, the Beasts acknowledge (and some
even profess) various religions they have learned about from other
civilizations. If the Beasts strongly desire it, the Technomages make contact
with any of them, not just the authorities. They can explain in more detail to
avoid misunderstandings. Again, Beasts highly value and love each other.
Through touch, they share feelings and emotions. This was likely embedded in
them during the race's rebirth. They would rather seek compromise than cause a schism in society. And the Technomages — it's not a religion, it's an objective
force.

Being partially magical creatures and having the support of the Technomages and other neighbors in the planetary system, the Beasts developed and learned peaceful life fairly quickly, which they liked much more than military action. The
Beasts were lucky — knowledge and technologies that took centuries to develop in other worlds, they received practically ready-made. Their civilization is quite young, about 500 years old — that's how much time has passed since the war for which they were created. Being curious creatures, Beasts adore studying new things, imitating, and copying. Thus, cities and cultures have appeared on their planet that are clearly copied from other planets and civilizations, including Earth. Beasts agree to accept guests from other planets, but only inspecially created floating cities they have built, with artificially created favorable conditions for most races. These cities are constantly in motion, like cruise liners, constantly traversing the planet, periodically stopping at ports on large continents. It should be remembered that gravity on Beastarion
exceeds Earth's, and the atmosphere consists of different elements. It is also
worth remembering that the planet has a reduced magnetic field, meaning higher radiation from its native star. Therefore, those wishing to visit cities on the mainland should acquire special protection.

\- Biological Features -
The Technomages created female specimens of the Beast race and named them
Beastarias. Probably wanting to make their race more similar to most others. As
with gnomes, female specimens of the Beast people outside their world are
extremely rare. This has led to rumors that either Beastarian women look almost
the same as men, or that they never leave their planet. From the union of a
Beast and a Beastaria, children of both sexes can be born. Both Beasts and
Beastarias can still produce offspring with other races — in which case the
child always inherits the purebred race of the parent of their own sex.
Additionally, Beasts can magically and biologically transform male
representatives of other races into Beasts, but they extremely dislike doing
so. Because, even having taken on the appearance of a Beast, a newcomer will
have an extremely difficult time adapting to life on Beastarion and will likely
cause many problems.

Since Beasts were originally created for war, they were born with a chitinous-mineral exoskeleton under their fur. The skin of Beasts is covered with small natural plates made of keratin and mineral deposits. They are practically invisible under the thick fur and protect the body from radiation from their sun. This also affects the vocal apparatus. Their voice has a "metallic" or slightly mechanical tone. It is logical to assume that their vocal cords and resonators (throat, oral cavity) have a different structure than those of humans or other races. Denser tissues and the presence of mineral inclusions may give the voice a characteristic hard, resonant, "metallic" timbre.
Beasts are almost omnivorous, able to digest almost any food. They particularly love nuts. Since Beasts inhabit almost the entire planet, the appearance and lifestyle of northern and southern tribes differ. The average lifespan, due to improved living conditions over 500 years, has increased. From 133 years to 200. There are also long-livers. Since there is a cult of strength and health among Beasts, some can live up to 300 years. Beasts are a very young race, and there is a theory that their evolution is still ahead. Who knows, maybe this is not
yet their age record, and in the future they will live for 400 years.
yet their age record, and in the future they will live for 400 years.
During evolution, certain physical traits became more pronounced, dividing them into subspecies or clans. Ursurae / Leonids / Lupii (bear-, lion-, wolf-like). Their coloring and adaptation to different climate zones also changed. For example,
in northern regions, Beasts had lighter, almost white, thick fur. But details such as horns, fangs, beards, and sideburns are present in all Beasts, although
they may differ in shape.

\- Culture, Traditions, Art -
During the rebirth, Beasts were given some special tactile abilities. Now handshakes, hugs, and any tactile communication are extremely important for Beasts. As soon as they touch each other, they immediately begin to understand each other better, sensing each other's feelings and emotions. Therefore, conflicts on their planet are extremely rare, despite the warlike appearance and
emotionality of many Beasts. Thanks to their thick and strong fur, Beasts do
not need clothing and usually do not use it. But in tourist cities and on other
planets, they wear loose shorts and light open vests to avoid embarrassing
other species. On their own planet, some Beasts wear clothing by choice. To
wear or not to wear — it's each one's choice. Another matter — various
adornments and decorative elements, some of which came to them from other
cultures. Beasts particularly love all kinds of chains made of metals of
different shades — perhaps they like their sound and shine, or maybe they
somehow resonate with their voice. Usually, these are rings, bracelets, amulets, chains. Important — Beasts are extremely zealous about the integrity of their bodies, so they do not pierce their ears for earrings, and certainly do not get piercings. They love adornments that can be removed, gifted, or exchanged at will. Some elements of clothing and armor may be present on Beasts as part of props for holidays or ceremonies.

Beasts derive immense joy from creativity. Music, any spectacular art hold great power over them. Therefore, many of them are enthusiastically engaged in creating something. This also distracts them from negative thoughts and conflicts. Beasts are life-loving and social creatures. They usually fall into depression only if forced to be far from their native world and their tribesmen. In such cases, they try to find solace in creativity and the arts.
Having learned to imitate and copy, having studied what already exists in the art of other planets, Beasts try to create their own — their creative and labor
potential is very strong. In all forms of art. Laziness and inactivity are extremely frowned upon in their community.

The main aspirations of Beasts are the preservation of ecology, peace, and health. Next comes creativity, labor, and the cult of strength. In third place can be put science, space travel, and new developments in technology. Beasts are a
somewhat frivolous race, as they are accustomed to years of care and
guardianship from the Technomages. But the Technomages warned them that they need to become more "adult" and independent. Therefore, their
guardianship will decrease over the next 100 years. The Technomages will
observe the Beasts without interfering. Why the Technomages need this remains a mystery. There are various theories: that the Technomages care for the Beasts, raising them for some future war, or as a workforce, or that this is some kind of experiment of theirs. Or — a naive but pleasant theory — the Technomages simply like the Beasts.

\-Education and Upbringing -
During peacetime, Beasts developed their own customs and rules for raising children. Upon reaching 16 years of age, young Beast males enter a combat academy. For the next 3.3 years, they study martial arts and handling various types of weapons. In the 4th year, they have practical training — for a whole year, Beasts work for the benefit of society, acquiring skills in a chosen profession besides military sciences. At the moment of their 20th birthday, Beasts must undergo the "Assistance" pilgrimage rite. For 5 years, they leave
their native worlds, helping various other races. This is atonement for what
their ancestors did many centuries ago. Upon returning, Beasts become full-fledged citizens of their homeland.

their ancestors did many centuries ago. Upon returning, Beasts become full-fledged citizens of their homeland.
Not much is known yet about the upbringing of Beastarian girls — probably, their primary task is domestic management. Plus, considering the fact that they were created after the war, they cannot feel guilt for everything that happened then. In character, most Beastarias are quiet and modest, loving their world and doing everything to improve it. They are not inclined to claim matters initially
given to men, usually finding their own approach, being delicate and non-confrontational. Probably, the Technomages studied the character of the
Beasts for a long time to create women of such character for them. Family quarrels on Beastarion are a very rare occurrence.

In different parts of the planet, different forms of family relationships exist —
somewhere marriages are concluded, somewhere monogamy exists, somewhere having several husbands is allowed, somewhere free relationships. Considering the relative youth of the race, Beasts are ready to experiment and are tolerant of any manifestations of love.

\- The Dark Legacy of the Bers -
And those soldiers of the Masters who did not join the alliance gradually split into two factions.
There were the Feral Ones — completely degraded, without a rational commander. On once-attacked planets, one can still find the ship on which the ancestors of the Feral Ones arrived. In lifestyle and thinking, they are already closer to animals or underdeveloped tribes leading a primitive way of life.
Bers — are those who retained their minds. They were so named because the Masters themselves called their creations that. To this day, the descendants of the Bers have also become outcasts, mercenaries, pirates, and smugglers. It must be said that their degradation stopped and then disappeared altogether. Probably, the absence of constant combat operations had an effect.
Both the Feral Ones and the Bers — all of them are reminders of the dark and sad past of the young race. Their essence was not altered by the Technomages; much of the Masters remains in them. And although outwardly they are similar to the descendants of the Reborn Beasts, in soul and character they are completely different. Due to their aggression, greed, and arrogance, few in the galaxy wish to meet and cooperate with them.
Some Bers dream of revenge, considering the Reborn Beasts weaklings, mired in lazy, well-fed life under the wing of the Technomages. Partly because of them, the defense of the planet Beastarion is very powerful. Moreover, among the Reborn, there is a naive belief that there is a way to make the Bers civilized. But
this is a dangerous idea.
this is a dangerous idea.
The Technomages and the alliance helped the Beasts create the agency A.S.I.N.,
"Agency for Containment and Study of Legacy." It was engaged in containing and completely isolating the infected worlds with Feral Beasts who survived the war. No entry or exit. Installation of orbital quarantine fields, beacon satellites warning any ships. Installation of surveillance over the planets. Constant monitoring of the state of feral populations, their behavior, mutations. Preventing any possibility of their independent development to a cosmic stage (for example, if they start repairing old ships). The goal was research. Understanding how intelligent weaponry degenerates, turning into animals. This is key to understanding their biology and, perhaps, to creating an "antidote" or a method of humane sterilization. Liquidation was a last resort. For this case, development and readiness to apply scenarios of complete cleansing in case of a critical threat (attempted mass escape, discovery of external manipulators) were prepared. Squads of operatives were created for raids on such planets. For Beast operatives, each mission is psychological torture. They see in the feral ones a mirror showing what they could have become. This can lead to nervous breakdowns, excessive aggression (a desire to destroy the "disgrace") or, conversely, to forbidden pity and attempts to "tame" them.

Such worlds were also assigned 3 danger levels:
Level "Omega" (Red): Active, aggressive biomass. "Hive Planets." Full quarantine, any approach is destroyed.
Level "Beta" (Yellow): Stable, degraded population. Observation, rare raids
for sample collection. Environmental disputes are possible: some scientists
consider them a unique ecosystem.
